Hi guys sorry to intrude would a trade for Zac Smith be something the club would entertain?

If so what would it take to get a deal done would you be interested in Pick 8.

im not sure if you have a selection at the end of 1st round, if you did would you package that pick and Z.Smith for pick 8?

I think we'd have the most to offer out of the other clubs. I can't see Carlton being interested considering that they've traded Garlett and Robinson for off-field issues. Plus, they're probably focused on getting Aish.

Pick 4 probably wouldn't be on the table unless Gold Coast give us a good offer.

Essendon and Gold Coast probably have a strained relatipnship after the Caddy debacle, so it would be interesting to see how it pans out. Can't see it having a great impact however.

Our pick for Carlisle (most likely a first rounder) plus a player.

If Bennel is packaged with Aaron Hall, I'd definitely give pick 4, the Carlisle pick and a player like Dempsey/Melksham. With pick 3 and 4, you can take Parish/Curnow.

If Goddard is keen, I would also consider, Goddard plus Carlisle pick for Bennel and a player (really keen on Hall). Goddard would be very good for leadership with his experience, especially in times of adversity at Essendon.

Due to the circumstances, you'd like have to take unders for Bennell like we did with Ryder.

I think the only way WC gets him is if he nominates us, GC will be happy that both WA sides finished 1 and 2 as it then creates a bidding war between the Vic clubs.

I really like Harley and I think if we added him we could win a premiership.

What do you guys think it will take from the Eagles?

With both Redden and Jetta keen on coming to us it leaves it very bare although I'm not fussed with either of those two.

Also the Tigers would be into Bennell, went hard for dan hannebery with a massive offer and missed out, looks like they have also missed out of adam treloar
I reckon we'll be making an offer for sure. Apparently we were prepared to trade our next 2 first rounders for Treloar and reckon we'd be offering something similar for Bennell. From a GC perspective, would you prefer picks or players?

Agree
Replacing Harley with an older less talented version of him is imbecilic
Agree. The idea that you'd trade for a likeness is just farcical. As I mentioned, he's a unique player that cannot be replaced. It'd be like the Tigers trying to replace Dusty Martin. There's just no other player in the comp with his combination of strength, skill and talent.

Our best result is either get a legit A-Grader, or a high draft pick.

Also, he's not going back to WA. At least I'd be very surprised if he does based on what his family thinks he should do.

His Mom hates the idea of him coming back to WA because he knows he gets into trouble there.

His friends in WA are legitimate dropkicks and bring Harley down to their level. Regular problems with the police, etc. When he was considering a move back to WA before he re-signed his family said 'we love you and we want you to succeed - so don't come home'.

Unless that has changed (and it may have, given what's happened - but it would be a big 180 turn from 18 months ago), he's going to VIC. Possibly even the Swans.
