His Mom hates the idea of him coming back to WA because he knows he gets into trouble there.

His friends in WA are legitimate dropkicks and bring Harley down to their level. Regular problems with the police, etc. When he was considering a move back to WA before he re-signed his family said 'we love you and we want you to succeed - so don't come home'.

Unless that has changed (and it may have, given what's happened - but it would be a big 180 turn from 18 months ago), he's going to VIC. Possibly even the Swans.
Interesting, the word we have is he wants to play for WC.

Don't think he can go to the Swans with the ban they have and amount he would earn.

I'd be extremely extremely surprised if he went to WA. It would be one of the worst things he could do. The club knows that. He knows that and the fam knows that. WA clubs will always be thrown around in the conversation from the media, but they'll never actually be in the mix IMO.

That Swans trade ban is going, if not eased considerably. They will be able to get him without much problem. Just gotta find a trade worth while.

He's basically just been sacked from the Suns for getting into regular trouble. Sometimes getting back to family & friends is the best solution.

Start his AFL career again from scratch like he's just been drafted by the Eagles or Dockers, and do things right this time.

I personally think that would be the best thing for him.

Nothing to suggest the Swans ban is going, as it stands they can't sign a player for more than 350k a season, Bennell will earn easily more than that. Swans currently are one side you may as well rule out.

It's completely irrelevant where the Suns think he should or shouldn't go, let's face it if he decides to go back to WA it weakens the Suns strength at the trade table massively as both WA sides finished one and two. Suns want a bidding war and Vic is the best place they'll get that from.

If interested as suggested I'd back the Eagles to keep him in line.

Jumping out of the pan and into the fire. I just can't see it. Stand to be corrected of course.

No matter where he goes I think we'll get something of value. That doesn't bother me. You asked me why I don't think he'd go and I answered. I still think the Swans are a smokey to get him. There is plenty to suggest the ban is going to be reduced at the very least, from both media personalities and figures inside a lot of clubs. But that's a separate topic.

I completely agree you'll get something of value, frankly I'd happily give up our first rounder and if expected our end of first round compo (if Selwood leaves) for him. Under the circumstances though I'm not sure if that's enough or too much.

You pick up someone for no evidence, regarding the Swans but have none to back your own argument, perhaps time for you to go

is it me or are the delistings from clubs coming more slowly this year, seemed like last year they were coming thick and fast as soon as the last game was done
Recruitment bosses are all to busy calling the Suns to offer up Deal for our 2 Ex Guns to announce there petty delistings

The Swans current situation is real, that's the facts until it changes, if it does. That would be what backs my argument, the AFL has banned them. :drunk:

I'm actually having a normal discussion about a pretty significant topic, don't see the reason you would take offence to it.

Back when we all thought Sammy Day was the bees knees.

Now that Harley has put all that media BS behind him I wouldn't be giving him up unless you offered us a kings ransom of picks and players, I'm talking a Gretzky/Herschel Walker type deal.
Thanks for that pic, loved that long run down by Sam and pretty much think that game against Nth was my fav ever Suns game. The 1st 1/4 in particular was to die for!

So I haven't heard anyone mention Bennell for Carlisle trade. Essendon reputedly interested in Harley and Carlisle reputedly wants to get the f*** out of dodge. Carlisle is 23 and in a similar kind of talent bracket as Bennell (maybe a swap of later draft picks in our favour as well, or don't they want Zac). Jake has Wada hanging over his head, Harl's has all sorts of shit hanging over his. It's a trade made in heaven.... isn't it??

I don't mean to bring up bad memories but if we look back the infamous golf trip 12 months ago you can see most of those players are no longer at the club/about to be traded or delisted. Only three of those nine players will be at the club next year (as far as we know so far) which makes me think the trading/delisting is as much about cleaning out the problems as it is them trying to leave. Harbrow, Martin and Matera are probably going to remain and I always got the impression this year that Matera was also going to be traded if he didn't shape up. The fact that the club said their parting with Dixon was mutual further enforces my theory.

It's just interesting to look back. It's almost as if Rocket's goal this year has been to eradicate the bad culture Bluey McKenna allowed to develop. This may very well be the turning point that the club needs to take the next step towards a premiership.
