We've lost already! Trading pick 16 meant we finished 3rd.

Assuming Suckling goes through FA.

2016 1st rounder + Suckling compensation + 2015 2nd rounder + Anderson + 2016 3rd rounder + Hale for Bennell + Lynch + 2015 and 2016 4th rounders

Thoughts? It would never happen but is it equal in terms of value?

Just find a trade for BB... Let's give him the label as 2x premiership player, starting ruckman in the modern day champs and in the leadership group of this great club. Surely some club will bite at it? Preferably the Giants or Suns where we can nail a young stud.. Whitfield/Day would do :)

West Coast loose their first and second pick and Lycett for Redden?!

You're likely to get carded for trolling if you pitch that on the Eagles board.

Howe & Bennell's collective salaries > Suckling & Schoenmakers' (you'd think so anyway)

If other clubs are offering more money, would either consider taking a pay-cut if it meant playing under Clarkson?

U sure don't have any love for Big Boy Tige! He is here to stay mate, you really need to support him. I hope our 2 big guys prove you and others wrong this Friday night.

I'd love for BB to prove me wrong, unfortunately the guy doesn't jump ( or can't jump ) so he won't be winning any ruck contests against Nicnat.. The way he can contribute is to go forward and clunk some marks, however he doesn't seem to be able to do that either.

We will win because we are the better team, we will lose only because Nicnat dominates.

I prefer a follower (someone who marks and gathers possessions around the ground) rather than a tap ruck men who does bugger all else - see Sandilands & Natanui. Hit outs are a useless stat. Like I posted on another thread Nic Nat has taken an amazing 30 marks in 20 games this year. What a superstar! Our midfield is intelligent enough to rove to Nic Nat at times.

If we break even through the middle we'll win regardless of who's rucking.

Gotta say I'm not wrapt at the thought of us getting Bennell with his record of indiscretions. No names but a few years ago we had influences like that and we walked a tight rope, hence why we learnt quickly and shipped off whats his name last year nice and early, gone blank on the kids name but that guy from Perth we drafted. Was it Garlett or something?

Could Clarkson tame Bennell? Maybe. I'd rather he concentrated on the other 21 guys in the team. Maybe I'll get proven wrong but looks unlikely with the guys career on the line, what's he do? Goes out and gets in an 'altercation' with a bouncer in Surfers. Doesn't bode well.

would rather we threw the barn at getting JO'M.

Brisbane won't give away Redden that easily. West Coasts 1st and 2nd is an understatement at best

The way I thought it would work with Brisbane would be a swap with picks 21 for 20, suckling for 38 and Grimley for 56.

tbh, i never expected this trade to work, it was just an idea.

Well I figure the veterans salary works our way here, assuming we haven't used the spare cash already.

Yeah I realized that but I didn't include any other trades that give Melbourne and west coast better picks because it isn't related to the point at hand.
And Schoenmakers would be a great replacement for Dixon and he isn't getting games here.

Although West Coasts 1st round and Lycett would be more suitable

Big Boy and Suckling for Carlisle and a swap of second Picks. Then we package a pick and Schoey to Brisbane for Redden and a pick swap. Would be sad to see Schoey go though, am a fan.

You must be trolling , yah nah really, ability is one thing, Carlisle gives five good games a year, Redden only as good as mids that we don't even give games to but what about the backbone of these two, not much steel between the two of them put together. Suckers might be out for dollars but BB and Schoey well I've got their back because I know when the chips are down they would still be giving heaps. Next you would be advocating that we chase Bennell, may be give Garlett another go or any other crackhead doing the rounds. Nah make them pass the character test first my friend.

Wouldn't be the first crackhead we've had on big dollars in the past. Bennell and Garlett are a waste. Think, for five seconds, what Carlisle would do at a good club, free of the BS at Essendon, it'd be a sh*tload more than Schoey I can assure you. As for chips are down, he's done that for years now and still makes an appearance. I would say that anyone on that list has already passed the Bumps"N"Grins character test with flying colors. Redden is far better than your suggesting.
