Thanks for the report gaskin

Seen her down there myself, good for a laugh... fairly young and skinny yeah? Was hanging her legs over the boundary last time I saw her and shouting out god knows what at the boys. She's missed a few weeks but if it's the one I'm thinking of she is a deadset nutter!! :drunk:

She was quite large

So they're all coming out of the woodwork now we are up and about? Lucky Balla.

I get the feeling that's a conservative assessment... ;)

Thanks for the reports folks

I think the main session is tomorrow being a Saturday game this weekend. I'll be down there and will report back.

So will I.Might bump into each other and say hello.
Sounds good. I'm a heavier set older woman with an English accent. I was down there last week. I was the one screaming for our hero and love of my life Ballas, you might have heard me? lol

haha nah I'm usually still 3/4 asleep, so I sit up in the Victoria pavilion for the first bit, then usually head down closer to the boundary during the match sims for a closer geez and to get within earshot of RTB.

Based off the reports it sounds like the loud, affectionate spectator wasn't RTB's cup of tea. Always prepared our coach!
underrated post!

Beautiful sunny morning down at Freo Oval this morning. Mayne was not sighted so my call is Mzungu in Mayne out and Pearce in. Apparently a bit of a flu going around. Blakely I heard was crook.
Spurr moving very well so he will also come in. We'll smash Gold Coast. Few other BF posters down there so looking forward to hearing from them as I had to leave early

Got down there for the 2nd half of it this morning, so others may be able to fill in the blanks. As simpsonwillo covered, Blakely not sighted, nor Mayne. Other absentees from what I saw were the obvious in MJ, Silvagni, Apeness, and may need this confirmed but I didn't see Smith out there either. Dawson involved which was good to see.

Spurr, A.Pearce both looking good and should come straight in for GC. Full field match simulation drills for most of the hour I was there, obvious Peel v Seniors. Langdon not involved in sims. Notable inclusions in seniors were Mzungu, Hannath, A.Pearce and Suban. Take from that what you will. Ross clapping everything this morning during sims, seemed very happy with ball movement and pretty much let them go without too many interruptions. No prop this week sadly. Also no large obnoxious English women. :(

Stuck around til the end, few noteworthy observations towards the end after the main group had called it quits...

- Tabs working with Eastaugh on ruck work, in particular his use of the body in the air. Explaining to him not to focus too much on winning the tap, more on competing body to body. Zarke may be earning the vest more often now with Tabs clearly keen to work on his game.

- Rog and Chalky Grey working closely together for better part of half an hour, ground ball pick ups, hitting target outside D50 under pressure. Grey one of the last blokes off the track. Maybe a surprise inclusion?

- Hannath working on contested marking v assistant with contact pad. Tabs likewise.

- Fyfe and Cap Kirk working together, ground ball pick ups off dinky little kicks and contested marking off an assistant with a contact pad, last senior player off the track again. Superstar and hungriest of the dog hungry Dockers.

- Ballard and Moller taking set shots, Moller also working on constested marking with assistant with contact pad. Is improving every session. Ballard sporting either ankle weights or two heavily strapped Achilles... leaning towards the former. Looked in good nick though. Thoughts?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, noticed Mzungu was involved as a back in the match sims so may be looked at in that capacity, MC clearly looking at their options.

Was Griff sighted, was he main group or Peel?

Peel although they never really separated. He was wearing the yellow bibs in the match sim which signifies more often than not they will be playing WAFL. I think Hannath will be the ruck emergency this week.

On reflection, I don't specifically remember seeing Duffield out there. Obviously being that his selection is topical at the moment, did any of the early training watchers see him out there? He's usually the first out on the track. May have headed inside with Lukey Mac when he went in for some pool action. Also, Ballas was involved in sims despite what the training report says on the website. He looked fine to me.

We were behind the goals so couldn't see much of it so the only thing I can tell you is that Mzungu did a bit down back. Other than that it did just look like standard positioning.

Any details on the roles that the "possibles" played during the match sims? Hannath forward? Mzungu back? that kind of thing?
Hannath was involved up forward, as well as working with Tabs on contested marking work later on. Mzungu down back as I mentioned. Obviously A.Pearce down back, Griff not involved much and was mainly in yellow bib (Peel) so probably most likely the emergency. Makes sense with Hannath a better forward/ruck than Griff IMO and would be a like for like swap with Zarke. De Boer yellow bib brigade also, Tendai was red bib (Freo). Tabs as I said doing some ruck work so will probably end up between Hannath and Tabs for the red vest come Saturday, the other with pinch hitting ruck responsibilities to see out the game I would say. Another observation was Sheridan in the yellow bib mob, not sure if that means anything, maybe to make up numbers being bottom of the seniors heap.

Tabs ruck work in action below...
