Hannath was involved up forward, as well as working with Tabs on contested marking work later on as I mentioned. Mzungu down back as I mentioned. Obviously A.Pearce down back, Griff not involved much and was mainly in yellow bib (Peel) so probably most likely the emergency. Makes sense with Hannath a better forward/ruck than Griff IMO and would be a like for like swap with Zarke. De Boer yellow bib brigage also, Tendai was red bib (Freo). Tabs as I said doing some ruck work so will probably end up between Hannath and Tabs for the red vest come Saturday, the other with p[inch hitting ruck responsibilities to see out the game I would say. Another observation was Sheridan in the yellow bib mob, not sure if that means anything, maybe to make up numbers being bottom of the seniors heap.

In the match sims they mix up the bibs its when they break into their respective groups they wear the red or yellow.I may be wrong but I thought Sherro was in the red bib group but could be wrong.Simmo or Gaskin might have more info.

Yeah they do mix it up a bit but it's generally a pretty good guide. I didn't see Sherro in red but I did see Suban in yellow at one point IIRC. Was ****ing tired this morning so apologies for being a little vague on a few of the deets.

Clark was also in yellow so the report of him not being on the plane sounds spot on

Don't know if this has been mentioned but Zac D was out on the track training and was involved in some of the match sims although one handed and with a great black wolverine glove on his injured hand.Apeness was involved in boxing but wearing a really cumbersome knee brace.Silvagni was working in the gym.

How did Zac "wolverine" Dawson do with the glove? Any chance he's a smokey to come back sooner?
Wasn't involved too much in the play, ball didn't really get near him. His thumb would still be quite a mess I reckon, wouldn't be looking to get his hands dirty too early just yet. Sadly I didn't get too close a look at the Wolverine glove :(

Obviously given that one more injury and our KPD's are non-existent, they would be looking at playing him a little earlier than initially anticipated, hence him being on the track today. In the event that anybody goes down the funky glove may even enable him to play if we're desperate and having him involved in the sims will keep up his fitness base and game awareness. Really hope he gets a chance to heal before he gets a call up.

Any idea on the severity of Dawsons broken thumb?

This was it before training today.

Freo medical staff decided he was good to go.

Unfortunately using only one hand at training compromised the integrity of his other hand.

Should only be a 2 week injury.

Are sure he wouldn't require his thumb to be replaced with his big toe?

I'm keen to get down to training this week. Does anyone have information as to what day will be the main training day?

Thanks

Well Sunday morning at Fremantle Oval today was the place to be .
The boys came on to the ground at just after 9.30 am and the session finished at 11.30 .
Almost a full complement 39 players warming up and then they got to work .
Its easier to state who wasn't on the ground than name those that were .
Crowley Silvagni ,Morabito ,Apeness and Johnson .
Johnson and Silvagni in the gym ,Apeness Morabito and Cowley not seen at all .
Those on light duties Suban ,Deluca ,Hurley , Pavlich ,Weller ,and Dawson.
Dawson was in all of the warm ups and a bit of kick to kick .
Hurley , Hughes and Deluca on the outer wing doing sprints .
Suban ,Pavlich ,Weller and Taberner did laps for most of the session with Tabs give a hurry up by one of the coaches early on .
The training was conducted by RTB with the players working in small groups of 8 then into half oval and then full oval match sims .
Nothing at full pace but a good workout just the same .
Plenty of practice kicking for goal with the usual friendly banter .
The most interesting thing for me was Blakley was working more with the regular midfielders .
If there is going to be a change then I'm sure he will be the player to come into the team with Suban to be the one to miss out .
The session on Tuesday will give a better indication .
Clarke had strapping on both knees but was moving fine and he played mostly as a forward .
As usual Fyfe was the guy who stands out when ever he is training . Gee's he moves so smooth across the ground .
The weather was perfect until the last 15 minutes and then it bucketed down but no running for shelter they stayed out there and just completed their training.
There was a fare crowd watching , parents with kids looking for autographs and a few old stages like me and my brother .
RTB had a team meeting for about an hour after training .

Skills were fine in the wet and the wind was quite strong .
Alex Pearce read the wind best of the backs while Moller and Walters were the better readers of ball flight in the forward line .
Ballas did a nice shimmy into the forward line and slotted one from 40 metres into the wind with a dry ball early in the session .
Clark and Sandi struggled to hold marks when it was raining . The ball was slippery when it got wet and no one had any Grippo
Clancee and Fyfe have great hands and held everything .

I heard Steve Rosich on the Bob Maumil show yesterday and he said that Freo had back to back training sessions on Saturday and Sunday. They opted to train both days so the boys could keep their regular Monday day off.

The only training session for the main squad will be Tuesday due to the Thursday night game.
