I feel it is time to accept there are a few teams too strong for us this season and we are better off preparing for 2015.

We have shown patches of decent form so far in 2014 but with injuries to almost everyone we could never get our best 22 on the park and our last 5 weeks the wheels have fallen off, compared to the exceptional consistency of our previous 5 seasons.
Maxwell is to retire and I think like most of us that it's a shame, he started the season really well until the injuries.
Time to blood a few more and build the depth a bit more for next year.
Stick with Adams and JT in the middle and I wanna see more of Broomhead and BK.
We really need 2 of those to really step up next season so give them game time now.
Langdon and Frost have been the best things out of 2014, great first seasons for kp players, both will step up in 2015 you would think. Adams is going ok and Witts is doing better than I thought he would. Langdon is my choice of best newbie of 2014.
White needs to be more physical, he's not a CHF. He should watch tapes of Leroy from 2010 and how he complemented Jolly.
All in all the last 2 weeks have been disappointing and before that we had done a little better than I expected. White and Grundy have also been disappointing and they both need a massive pre season because this year was not good enough.
Karnezis has looked very dangerous up forward in the VFL this season, whenever Pat has been close to a call up though he has copped an injury. Wanna see him play a few games, he's got far more skill than White.

Martin and Armstrong are also pushing for selection, lock in Broomhead vs Adelaide though, he was amazing vs Werribee and is a gun.

Anyways, I hope we give guys that are pushing for selection a go, so many of our current 22 don't have the hunger that all of our VFL side has.

vs Adelaide we will see

IN: Elliot, Reid, Broomhead, Keefe
Out: Maxwell, not sure

Need to balance it out, it still has to be the aim to play finals as we are on the longest streak of any AFL club. But at the same time we need to play the kids and I think we will, guys like Broomy, BK, PK and Martin will all play before the year is out. Next week against Adelaide is a must win and I want to see Reid PK, Elliott and Keeffe all come back in

I agree. We are not going to win the Flag and Finals looks very unlikely so get Kids into games.

And get Players that are Injured like Swan out and get them Fit for Season 2015

I'd like to see Gault next to Cloke before the season is over. Got a feeling he could be a good second or third forward. Strong mark and a decent kick.
Absolutely with you, cant hurt to give him a crack no matter what happens really

I voted no based solely on the "kids" title.

Martin (23 yo) and Armstrong (24) are not kids.

Our "kids" are Marsh, Broomhead, Kennedy, Scharenberg, Freeman (if he ever gets fit), Gault, Oxley, Grundy, Ramsay etc.

I would vote yes if you included 3 of those names, I'm hoping Broomhead and Kennedy play every senior game from now on and that Marsh and Scharenberg get at least one senior game this season.

and we drop players like Swan who are Obviously not 100%.

Scharanberg might get in for the last few games of the season

He reminds me a bit of Tom Hawkins. If you put him next to Cloke it takes a defender off Cloke also. Could work well or not be trouble. If he gets delisted without debuting we will never know. It's one thing I would try.

oh I see.. very pedantic of you and my apologies BBBD for thinking it would be you. Does it really matter that Armstrong, Karnezis and Martin are not kids? I think we are just generally talking about trying out some new faces.. seeing what the guys on our list can do.

I really hope that doesnt happen. Gault has had some issues, but he is a 199cm forward, and they dont fall off the back of trucks; and still only 21(?). Lots of potential there.

Dunno bout you guys but I just turned 29 and so everyone younger than me who wasn't in the 2010 squad is a kid, Armstrong to me is def a kid and he's also in awesome form.
We need to use this time to see if some of the silk in the VFL can do it at the next level.

Karnezis
Freeman
Scharenburg
Langdon
Frost
Williams
Elliot
Grundy
Witts
Fasolo
Kennedy
Thomas
Adams
are all 21 and under im pretty sure.
2015 and our future is looking bright, thats why when i see us struggling like now, i think to myself, this team will rule Australia once again!

I think Broomhead and Martin need to be in the team, not because we are "giving" them games but because I genuninely think they are better options than alternatives right now. What I would say though, is that as inexperienced players, I would be tempted to ride out one or two lower performances which will come from less experienced players in the name of building confidence from a longer consistent run.

For the same reason, I would not be bouncing Kennedy back and forward between starting/sub/out...let him settle in the starting 21.

Every time I see Hawkins on TV he reminds me of Gault - it's uncanny.
