Option 1: how much evidence do you need that we are a good judge of late picks. If we thought there was no one there, there was no one there.

Option 2: how much evidence do you need that there are good players available at late picks. A 5 percent chance is better than a pass.

The great thing is that any evidence can fit both theories! I'm looking forward to this one going on for a while.
If we didn't rate anyone then we shouldn't take anyone, if we did rate people but didn't take them, then we have bigger issues.

All of these guys carry way more things than what we ever know about

Wouldn't be rare to be carrying 3 injuries at once and still get up to play , guessing he's carried this for a few years and then copped a knock that's made it unbearable
So do you recon a rival for his spot lined him up.

I was always pretty confident in Hartigan, I reckon he showed a bit as soon as he came in. His errors were exaggerated given his inexperience especially when we had senior players making similar mistakes.
They were also concentrated in a small time frame. It got forgotten that he picked himself in each of the 3 games and performed well after the back to back howlers. Even saying that, they were almost entirely from taking the game on too much, playing on yoo quickly, pinpointing 40m worm burners, so very easily solved.

same , glad I sit on the right side of ledger on that one . He's a ripper and more selfless than a lot of our players

I was a pretty solid Hartigan critic in 2015; have been proved nicely wrong.

This is my dream round one side but it is a bit unrealistic going on our selection committees record.
Bold= New Players/Players hoping to become regulars

FB: Curtly Hampton
, Daniel Talia, Rory Laird
HB: Brodie Smith, Kyle Hartigan, Tom Doedee
C:
Charlie Cameron, Rory Sloane, Wayne Milera
HF:
Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins, Troy Menzel
FF:
Mitch McGovern, Taylor Walker, Tom Lynch
R: Sam Jacobs, Matt Crouch, Brad Crouch

Inter: Jake Lever, Cam Ellis Yolmen, Paul Seedsman, Rory Atkins
Em: Riley Knight, Kyle Cheney, Richard Douglas

Next In Line: Luke Brown, Richard Douglas, David Mackay, Reilly O'Brien, Harrison Wigg, Jordan Gallucci, Myles Poholke

I know unfortunately that the club will not have guys like Luke Brown, Kyle Cheney, Richard Douglas and David Mackay out of the side but in my opinion none of them guys are going to evolve their games any more than what you see. I might give the exception to Luke Brown as he does have the potential to grow his game but as for the others I personally can't see it.

These four can really add something to our side in 2017

Curtly Hampton- Adds so much X Factor with his pace and also a very good lock down defender, would be harder at it than Brown.
Troy Menzel- X Factor up forward which will need replacing if Charlie Cameron moves to the midfield.
Tom Doedee- Good young talented defender who goes hard at it, in the same mould of Jake Lever.
Wayne Milera- Would look awesome playing on the wing alongside Charlie Cameron.
Cam Ellis Yolmen- Adds a big bodied player to our midfield which we have lacked since Dangerfield left.

Strings, strings and more strings..

Yeah but it's only our fitness / performance staff that are incompetent and we need to sit here and whinge, because they don't know what they are doing and now we have aaaaaaaaaaaall these injuries:rolleyes:

I would love to see these "four" pushing for a spot in round 1 but Riley Knight will be a top ten player by the end of this seasons if he can dodge the injury curse. At the end of last season he was way, way in front of all five players listed.

Well boys club appointments tend to attract more scrutiny than usual. This is why I don't envy Ben Jarman. Kid will never hear the end of it if he goes out there and stinks it up.

Went to the sun's v lions on the weekend the quality was really poor in the first quarter the turn overs were enormous. Aaron Hall was the stand out had so much speed with little pressure from lions. Barlow was slow and McCluggage looked too small but did some clever things, feel sorry for him being drafed to them. Both teams will struggle this year but difficult to judge on one game.
