Congrats Simmo & Doc for being named in the 40 man squad :thumbsu:

Final team of 22 to be named this Thursday.

EBetts, JJenkins, RLaird, TLynch, RSloane, DTalia; SDocherty, KSimpson; SPendlebury, ATreloar;

LNeale; PDangerfield, CEnright, JSelwood; TLynch; SConiglio, TGreene, TScully, HShaw, CWard

JGunston, SMitchell, CRioli; MGawn; RTarrant; JPittard; DMartin, ARance; JSteven;

LFranklin, DHannebery, JKennedy, LParker, DRampe; AGaff, JKennedy, JMcGovern, LShuey; MBontempelli, MBoyd.

Cripps leads the AFL in contested possessions (avg) and not just has the most clearances, he's absolutely dominated the clearances. Averages 1 more than anyone else in the league with 8.8 per game. Mightn't sound allot but there are 3 players between 7.3-7.8 (Abblett, Neale, Kennedy). Shows his domination. What a joke.

I think this just confirms that Cripps will never get the accolades and respect he deserves during his career.

Or as long as he chooses to be a Carlton player, take your pick.

Time for an all new AA selection panel!

Usual suspects selected by the usual suspects.

List is okay, will always be someone deserving that misses out.

Well done Simmo and Doc.

Well done to Simmo and Doc on thoroughly deserved nominations. Surely one or both will make the final side - I'll be physically ill if Pittard makes the cut over either of them.

Surprised that all of Cripps, Merrett and Riewoldt missed out on the squad. All had great years & I'm not sure what more they needed to do to get in.

Honestly, the only thing I can think of is their club didn't make the finals.

Neale broke the AFL record for possessions in a season.

My thoughts exactly. I am sure that the stats will show that all of Cripps, Merrett and Riewoldt were better than other nominees. The AA is a bit of a joke because the selectors are a joke.
