Doedee is a dead set freak.

Not jumping the gun in terms of all round AFL ability, but the bloke just never looks phased by anything. Just has this freakish ability to go in, win the ball and then dish it off without even breaking a sweat. I swear his face doesn't even change when he's cracking in and he shows 0 emotion. When he has the ball time just slows and he's able to work through traffic and get the ball to a team mate. People who had question marks over his kicking.... I'm starting to wonder whether they were watching the right player?

He also never loses out aerially. Constantly jumping into contests against bigger boys that he has no right to win and gets a fist in there.

Seriously excited about this kid if he can make our 22 in 2017. Cheney would be getting real nervous.....

Some other things I picked up on:
- We also suck at defending the outside midfield run in our SANFL side. Although we won, Port just found waaaay too much space through the corridor and it was their I50 entries that really let them down in the end.
- Our forward line structure ****ing sucks asssssss. We do so much work further down the ground and then when we go to kick forward there is literally nothing to go to. Ramsey makes some good leads, but again we are very much a hit and hope to Lowden/Hunter height advantage and then the rest we just play it as it comes.
- Im really starting to question Menzel's "midfield ability". I don't think he really belongs there but so many posters keep harping on about it. The thing for me is that he does his best work and is more suited to being inside the forward 50/HFF. He's a ferocious tackler, but apart from that he just looks a little lost in the midfield. Was watching him closely and he was always running to the wrong spots and looks so rushed with everything he does. Think he is much more suited playing that lead out small forward, who can also crumb his own ball if need be and fire in a pass back into the 50.
- Hampton is really building, liked his game. Was hard at it all day for an outside player, which is what I like to see.
- Keath honestly looks like 35 year old with 20 years of experience playing the game. It's so odd, looks like he never left. Think he will stick around and provide us with some good KPP depth. Diamond in the rough and good find.
- Gore is a very, very tidy player for an inside mid. He might not be getting a lot of the ball right now in terms of possessions, but when he does get it he generally makes good decisions and doesn't really do a lot wrong. Has a very neat kicking technique too. Reminds me a lot of Lyons in the sense that he will be a very handy depth player in the years to come, someone who can be called upon to come into the side and play his role
TBH he reminds me A LOT of Talia. He is almost a slightly smaller version of him, probably more suited to that 3rd defender role. Looks a lot like an AFL footballer from the games I have seen him play. Has great reach and wingspan. Really needs to put on a few kilos so he doesn't get outbodied in contests.

Wasn't there a rumour floating around somewhere on BF that we were already talking to Grigg?
Wouldn't surprise me.

Melbourne offered him 2 years last year but he turned it down to stay with us. I'd love him to stay on our list but he's too good to not play AFL for the next 8 or so years. His leg is a weapon, only 2nd behind Smith at the club for mine.

CEY my pick to come in for ST...he's been banging that door down all year.

Yesterday I watched the last quarter of the game at Alberton. Why were both teams wearing dark shorts? Don't they have to wear a completely different strip as the AFL demands?

Well considering the game was played in the SANFL competition I'd say that AFL demands with regard to shorts mean sfa.

I wondered if the SANFL has the same ruling.
I thought they did. North and Centrals have to wear coloured shorts when playing at each other's ground (ie North only wears red shorts at Elizabeth, Centrals only wear blue shorts at Prospect)

We are allowed 1 ex-AFL player in our SANFL team right? If so I wouldn't mind if VB were to be delisted and given this role, as captain of the reserves. I have a feeling he will want to play on. Thompson would be the 2nd option for this but reckon he will either go on next year or fully retire.

I suggested that earlier this year but was told that rule no longer exists. Makes more sense than an amatuer league player being captain.
