We might give him a farewell match last round if we have top 2 secured
Would mean a player destined to play finals ends up with 2 weekends without a game. Doubt there'll be any gifts whilst there's a bye between the last round and finals. Bit sad really.

I was being a bit facetious. I can't see us not playing best 22 as we will still be fighting for best position in the 8

I agree. The comp is in raptures over Lever. They are going to lose their collective shit when they get a load of Doedee and it becomes apparent we have uncovered another defender of that ilk.

I can't help but think that he's a real possibility to play as a midfielder in the coming years, and I'm not just saying in the sense of "x player could be tried in the midfield" but that I do have belief that he could become very effective there. I'm reluctant to pigeon hole him into the position of medium defender.

I've been impressed with Wigg, Doedee, Menzel, Knight and Milera in the parts I've watched.

Van Berlo is well and truly cooked. Henderson okay on the attack. Hampton working hard on the outside but getting little reward
VB and Otten have quickly dropped down the pecking order

I haven't seen an SANFL game I even half enjoyed in a while. Players struggle so hard to get clean possessions around the contest and it's so slow. I think it makes it hard for players to really stand out.

Anyhow, Doedee was probably bog for us. Such composure. Strong in the air. Good decision maker. If he's fit and doesn't play AFL next year, I'll eat my hat.

Menzel probably has the most intensity out there. Very strong tackler and ultra classy with the ball. Was pretty good but I think is one of those players who will struggle in this reserves team to really thrive.

Wigg was in and out of it but I like his intensity at the contest to go with his kicking. Does look like a talent.

Lowden moves like a houseboat.

Hunter doesn't really stand out except for his lankyness.

Otten was pretty good. I think he is reasonable backline depth still and could probably come in and play decent AFL footy.

Hampton was quiet. Not sure what role they were playing him in.

Milera quiet. Still silk when he has it though.

Knight was quiet but looked reasonable when he got it. Good to see him back. 2017.

Not much else to say.

Doedee haters have been well and truly proven wrong this year. The kid just looks so smooth, athletic, strong and competitive
He's just turned out to be such a complete package. Was always strong in the air, and seemed to have a lot of composure with the ball in hand. Now he's started taking the game on, weaving in and out of traffic, attempting more difficult kicks, using his athleticism to his advantage. And you can just tell he has a good footy brain, always seems to be in the right spot and take the right option out of congestion.

Kid will not look out of place at all at AFL level. Has so many traits that should hold him in good stead.

Kelly has no unique weapons. Won't make it in the AFL, at least in our team
Yeah that presents a bit of a problem.

He's one of those no-nonsense defenders. He's got good athleticism and strength so can play on a variety of opponents, and he will go out there and give you 110% all day every day making sure he burys his opponent into the ground. Problem is you can't ONLY be a 1v1 shutdown defender in modern football, especially if you want to be playing in a top 4 side. We've seen exactly that with Talia over the past 2 years and his transformation.

Going back maybe 5 or 10 years people would have regarded him as a jet. I love the kid and his competitive nature, but I just don't think he will make it at this club with the style of defence that we play and the personnel that we have.

Would be a great pick up for another club however.
