Hey guys, any chance on a write up of individual players? How did Hampton go? How awas Keath?? Would love to know on all the Crows boys, even Grigg amd Greenwood!
There were a lot of crows boys out there!
Norwood were very good at hanging on to our players with no repercussions so Dear had very limited opportunities because of this and they were hanging on to Grigg as well.

Hunter and Lowden worked hard and were pretty influential around the ground. Hunter's competitive nature in always after the ball is a big positive. Lowden has improved his kicking and his two goals were very good long kicks. Wigg was close to best on IMHO - a couple of his hand balls out of congestion were so good. Henderson was Hendo in that he did some very good things and then did some Hendo things like looking at his opponent and not deciding to man up on him. Surprise that Norwood then passed the ball and got a goal from Hendos lack of defense. Gore was not happy with Norwood's attention and has quite a bit of fight in him.

Down defense way Kelly provided a lot of voice and run. Doedee made some poor decisions by foot in the first qtr but was very good otherwise. Meath pushed Johnston up high and negated any forward moves. Hampton - oh boy, his ability to just take the game on and run past everyone is insane. He knows they can't tackle him. VB had good directions and did a lot of nice things. Got tired a bit in the last qtr which is understandable. Otten was Otten.

Mendel might not get the best opportunities but his 2nd, 3rd and 4th efforts show the rest of the forwards how to stay in the game. Works hard. Beech's courage and intensity is second to none, especially in the last. Knight it was almost as if he hadn't been out of the game for 3 months. Some of his kicking was a little off but he got it by the end. Greenwood takes a little bit at the start to get the pace of the game but a couple of our goals were due to him body lining the ball and forcing a turnover. The others are keen to help Milera stay involved in the game. Does a couple of those class things but still isn't as involved all the time like he should be.

It was a pretty dominate performance overall from the team, including our top ups.

Doedee is a gun. Has AFL quality written all over him. Good height, great athleticism, decent skills and good reader of the play. Another Ogilvie masterstroke.

IMO, at worst, we've got a decent defender who will be the heir apparent to Cheney and be able to shut down those second small/half forward types who usually trouble us. At best, well his ceiling is huge with his attributes and could very well develop into a tall, athletic mid.

Cheney would be the role Doedee would play but I honestly wouldn't like to see him come out. I've always liked him and I reckon he's just one of those guys you'd love to have along side you. Just a solid and reliable defender.

Doedee looks a ripper though for a young guy who hasn't played a lot of football. Needs to be fast tracked next year.

Wigg and Doedee the standouts today in terms of guys who should break into our side.

Menzel a mention too - worked pretty hard as it's not coming easy to him.
Totally agree .....Menzel getting better week by week

Have to mention Knight .......IMO the most natural like for like role player to replace Mackay

If a player is a one grab mark ......always a great indicator of a very good player

Doedee in the midfield i can definitely see .....such a good reader of the game
Id like to see it tired. Think he could be a utility in the mould of a Goddard and have stints wherever needed.

What I absolutely love about him whether it's midfield or as backmen is he never ever loses his feet.

In fact, I can't ever remember seeing it happen.
