List Mgmt. 2016 AFL Draft

I'm thinking Berry, Brodie then Simpkins. Although I'd prefer SPP
The more I read 'half back' and 'defender' in relation to Berry the more I want to avoid him.

Hopefully either Freo or Gold Coast take English. Firstly because it removes the temptation for us to take him and secondly it means one more midfield type will be available at our pick

Yes I get all that Monocle, agree that he is weak in the tackle, lacking core strength, but everyone has deficiencies. His strengths are what we play to, not his deficiencies. He so often runs when others stand still, and provides an outlet out of the defensive half, so we don't just have to bomb it out, and he keeps linking up play all day. He has good delivery into the F50 - ask JK. It's the opposition coaches that will try and maximize his weaknesses, as all coaches do. But the slanderous comments Masto gets on here are undeserved.

When Masten is fully fit and in form he is a decent AFL player.

The problem is that he drops away 5% in form or fitness he becomes a very average player. His pace drops by 5% because he's carrying an injury or lacks conditioning he becomes a tackling bag.

Play him off half forward is a loss because he rarely kicks goals and isn't strong overhead.

He is one of our players we need others to pass in order to reach the standards to win a flag.

That's the simple truth.

I feel like we will pick up big Timmy English if Brodie/Simpkin/Logue aren't there.

Would be a real long-term selection.
i would rage. would confirm wce are the only team in the league who regular waste high picks on rucks. ffs rucks dont win premierships.

North, Us, Melb, Brisbane have the best for ruckman in the league this year... well...
meanwhile dogs barely played a ruckman lol.

if english had a strong marking game I might feel different, but apparently he doesnt.

Its that and also NicNat and Lycett is probably one of the best combo of rucks in the league. The club appears to be acting like NicNat is gone for good - its just one year ffs.

I've got grave concerns as to whether English can actually ruck, also dont think he'll ever be a great contested mark.

Natanui will be fine.
Out catching Barra at Balla Balla last week.

We should all hound the social media campaigner about SPP last ditch effort.

Also a Presser with Berry and Barich makes me wanna chunder. wonder how his dead mum would feel

If the club is so concerned with our ruck stocks (which they shouldn't be), then take Goddard or Cameron with a late pick and not blow a chance at an elite mid.
If we are not forced to use our pick 54 on waterman I would be happy to take cameron as a ruck back up for the year over Petrie . I recon they would have about the same forward output but cameron a better ruck . cameron would also have a potential 8+ years on our list unlike Petrie would would be lucky not to break down

It's not even as if SPP has any character problems. From what I've seen and read he's a decent kid

I still fail to see what it is about him that ranks him significantly below the Victorian boys we seem to be considering

It's strange, even though we seem to have absolutely no indication from the club on who we are taking, that the closer we get to the draft it becomes less and less likely that we will pick SPP up.

Have heard bolton may have pulled a wingard and told recruiters he doesn't want leave his home state .
bolton at pick 34 would be outstanding .

I wonder if the recent Garlett and Yaran go home factor stories will affect recruiters risking 1st and 2nd round picks on WA indigenous talent?

We can only hope.

Isn't Clarke a bigger inside mid but not as skilled as his brother at Norths.

Clarke + Berry are two big mids?

Dylan Clarke 187 cm 85 kg is a tough inside extractor who runs all day racking up big numbers he is a slightly different player to his brother Ryan.
He averaged 24 possessions in the Champs half of which were contested.
He is a footballers footballer that keeps running all day and competes when the ball is in dispute.
If you want some one to get the hard ball out of the contest then he is second only to Brodie in this years cohort.
Obviously I am a fan as I love his work in tight and his quick hands to get the ball out and moving forward.
Kid has a massive tank and also runs and presents on the outside, he ticks lots of boxes.
