Ok on the eve of the draft I go to bed and here is the dream I dream tonight
Draft Day : West Coast Style.
O'Brien ( Sunny Weaver Junior ) starts the day off with a piece of yellow post it pad in his pocket that reads "Jarrad Berry no matter what"
Commotion on BF as O'Brien calls out Berry's ( Vonte Mack) name at # 12.
SPP ( Bo Callahan ) looks so pissed off as he slides from WC's first pick which causes consternation and concern with the other 17 head recruiters who start to panic and worry whats wrong with SPP that they didn't know about .....the slide starts...........
SPP starts falling further and further down the Draft Board Board till pick # 35.
At Pick 35 SPP ( who is no longer Bo Callahan but in fact Ray Jennings ) who desperately wants to play for the Eagle, gets a call from Coach Simpson and is told some news. SPP hangs up and turns to his family and says " I am going to be an Eagle"... his family burst into joyous raptures and party hard.
The WC BF board readers collectively go into "urgently needing tissues to clean their computer screens, mode".
Post Script.
West Coast pick up two First Round quality players for under's.
O'Brien regains some respect back from the WC faithful.
Dream Ends Abruptly with a sad Ending.
Dream about to end..... nightmare about to start.......
as O'Brien calls out Drew Petrie with West Coast last pick .
On that note fellow posters I bid you a relaxed 24 hours ... lol.... this time tomorrow night we will have opened all our Christmas Presents.
Lets hope we are happy with our gifts.
Had Laverde been any good? Venables has OK size and decent toughness, but isn't polished or a plus as a fwd or mid. Gallucci averaged the second most goals for a mid in TAC behind McLuggage. Both are mid/fwd.anyone rate venables? I personally would prefer venables to gallucci or maybe even berry. He could either be a huge steal or the next leverde but i would rather take a risk on him than gallucci.

Didn't Bond allude to many pages ago that we are looking for someone with good skills because "it's become a kicking game"?
Interesting because no one that we are linked to has anything spectacular when it comes to footskills (Brodie, Berry, SPP, Gallucci).

Firstly I wouldn't ever say that about Fyfe and Danger. Lets be honest the last 3 Brownlow Medalists haven't been strong with disposal efficienct when you include Priddis as well.
I wouldn't say it's a crock of shit either but. Hawks won 3 flags by having good kicks and have been competitive for many years because they have good outside kickers on there list, heck we even recruited the human glass window Xavier Ellis with a big tick on his disposal efficiency when playing seniors.
Winning contests is where the runs stack up for Powell Pepper over Berry I agree, he is Martin like at the contest with his powerful body and ability to fend off.
I'm not looking to start WW3 if we go with Powell Pepper over Berry, its if that pick becomes a project tall like Marshall or English than I will fair dinkum spew up.
Who do we replace Kennedy with in 3 years?
Or do we just wait to the last minute and go "oh sh!t".
We have drafted and traded in a lot of mids over the past 3 years.
If we draft Berry he will have my support and i will hope we develop him into a elite footballer.
But will always have a soft spot for SPP
7What time is the draft AEST?
I don't mind Rotham. But if we get Berry getting Rotham could end up a bad move both could just end up hbf etcFrom my experience 'links' made between players and clubs beyond the top 25 or so are rarely accurate. I'd love Rotham but I'm not getting my hopes up.

im with you, he is my preference, albeit i dont mind any of berry, brodie, simpkin and of course spp.Not that keen on Venables myself...I could see Gallucci becoming a bloody good full time mid, I'm not so sure about DV.
He looks to be quick but I wouldn't call him truly explosive (this is meant to be his greatest asset I think, I'm not overly impressed)
I'm in the Gallucci camp myself.
