List Mgmt. 2016 AFL Draft

Florent's father died recently and apparently he has a preference to stay in Victoria as a result which is understandable.

Strangely I have seen a couple of phantoms saying Sydney are interested which goes against the common view that non-vic clubs aren't considering him
Seems like Sydney will go Florent if Simpkin & Brodie have both been taken, minus any top tier sliders.

I really hope spp or Bolton have pulled a rioli and told clubs they want to stay in Perth

SPP has publicly said he doesn't mind moving interstate . Bolton is rumored to have said he would rather stay in perth .

Dream draft for me would be

12 brodie - inside grunt great hands in close
34 Bolton - small forward / outside pacey flanker
54 Bailey Banfield - Hard working mid
89 Waterman Medium forward
94 Darcy cameron ruck/forward

Who would you take in the rookie draft ,and how many picks do we have? Assuming we have to rookie McInnes

We have 7 list spots total one of which has been promised to McInnes

So we use 4 main draft and 2 rookie draft selections or 5 and 1 plus McInnes in the rookie draft

We can sign Petrie as a DFA over the weekend which is the other unpalatable variable

SPS?

Mids win you flags not rucks, so the midfield is the one position where you can overload and the ruck is probably the least important imo.

When was the last time the premiership was won by a team who had a dominant ruck?

Well one midfielder doesn't win you a flag. Just like one ruck doesn't win you a flag.

Unless your argument involves having half a team of rucks...

I like the profile of your draft very much especially considering the 2 trades. Actually think we can delay the Banfield pick for the rookie draft and go for someone like Tom Williamson at 54. About Tom's draft range and he is a mid with exquisite kicking skills. A leftie that is worth a serious look.

But drafting a potentially elite midfielder will give you a better chance at a flag than a potentially elite ruck will.

What i want is this.

SPP (really want Brodie actually but don't think he gets through)
Rotham or Clarke (or dare to dream and get SPP here after getting brodie with our first)
Williamson or Parfitt
Waterman
Goddard

And in the rookie draft
Any two of Ryan/Rioli/Lebois

What i think will happen :(
Berry
Rotham
Waterman
Cameron

Delisted Free Agent
Petrie

Rookies
Kirby
Mcinnes

Shai Bolton's colts stats for the half of the season look super bl00dy impressive! Goal-kicking mid with pace! Would definitely love to see us pick him!

Very surprised that he didn't get a call up to reserves or seniors...

The thing i see with Shai is that he is a flanker not a forward pocket and i just have this nasty feeling that if we draft him we'll try and make him a forward pocket specialist and it'll greatly hurt his game. Also at 177cm is he the right choice for the HFF.

Read the Carlton Board a little earlier, they said we have interviewed Patrick Kerr a number of times and had a few officials visit recently. Could be in the mix for a second rounder

I actually think we're a chance to reach for Darcy Cameron in the second round here. Just a hunch.

Nah. Rookie for him

Happy D-Day campaigners

Heard that as well. I expect he is in the mix. We will have a bloody good option at our second (adding weight that no other club will bid on Waterman that early and I think he has been told we will not match a bid that early)
