Graham sounds like Priddus and the frustration he causes by turn overs in now legendary. We have already got one of him.

The Larke Medal is a Politically Wanky award , always has been.
Pat Steinford, Garth Taylor and Cale Morton all won the Larke Medal so its not a guaranteed indicator of making it.

Twomey is a puppet and just regurgitates the spiel he is fed.
I place much more credence on what astute judges like Micky Abett say that what Cal pumps out.

Sure Graham was more highly rated than the others I mentioned.
However being more highly rated doesn't guarantee success .
No one rated McGovern or Cox, so being rated doesn't = guaranteed success.
Conversely the gurus rated both Beau Dowler and Mitch Thorpe ( both top 10 picks ) but neither became regular AFL players .

Look I have nothing against Graham and I hope he makes it , it's just that I like him a whole lot more on another teams list than ours.

We are doing a good job of weeding all the player with sub standard foot skills off of the list. Why stop now.

The way you carry on is like his disposal is absolutely deplorable he averaged 25 disposals and went at 68% efficiency.......



Compared to someone like SPP who averaged 15 disposal at 62 %

Or McClugge 21 disposals at 62%

He's no where near as bad as you say and I'm not actually sure you have watched him live too many times at all

Re read my post I think you may have got my comments arse about.

Those players are who I prefer over Graham, not Rioli.

I was looking through both lenses not just the one.

Yeah for sure how the hell doesn't Zach Sproule - Sam Walker and Jonty Sharenberg not get picked up. Just to name a few

True....Sharenberg must be thinking what the hell more do i have to do averaged 24 disposals 5 tackles 5 clearances through the championships etc

I'm sure he will get a rookie spot though

That's the bit that sucks about us not getting him. He already bled blue and gold before the draft. The only time it makes sense to take a local guy and we don't do it. Venables might turn out to be a good pick, but it would have been nice to have someone that would do anything for the club. Even if his skills aren't the greatest, they can improve. It's the heart that we are missing. A player like him has the potential to lift the whole midfield. Still a little disappointed we didn't get him especially since he has the potential to play straight away.

Something else also in the back of my mind is the fact that if we wanted venables from the start we could almost have taken both SPP and him if we had traded down a little. They were both rated around 20.

I'm not sure I see it with Scharenberg, seems like a reasonable ball winner but doesn't seem to have any other impressive traits. I thought someone like Atley was far more impressive and was hoping he'd slide to our second.

So if you had to choose between the two, brown or Petrie? Neither isn't an option in this hypothetical

I'd go with brown personally

The honourable thing to do is stick with Brown if it was only a one year deal but if it was for two years I would withdraw the offer and sign Petrie to a one year deal ..

Be able to hit targets. Have a look at his play in the U18 allstar game, worst skill out there, confirmed a lot of his glaring weaknesses.

Wasn't his best games for disposal but he has shown he can hit targets just fine and performed well in the kicking and handball test at the combine.
