I understand why we are going to rookie list him due to his contract situation

I don't understand why if he's still on the list we take Petrie

At least there's some small hope that McInnes can recapture and build on the form he showed in 2015 when Darling was injured. He regressed badly in 2016 though
Yeah, can't understand taking Petrie, jobs for mates situation. Why don't they just make Petrie some sort of assistant coach if they want him here? He probably will be anyway if/when he comes.

If we are taking Petrie to help out East Perth I actually dont mind that idea. We dont have any genuine key forwards apart from Allen. Mcinnes is hopeless and Lamb isnt a KPP. The last few years we've had a few players on the rookie list that weren't going to play so its not going to be any different. We've probably still reduced the dead wood on there.

I'd be gobsmacked if someone took Fraser off our hands. I mean why would they? His WAFL stats aren't exactly flattering and he hasn't shown a great deal in 5 seasons. Where is this brisbane rumour coming from?

I think it's wishful thinking yo, that campaigner will still be on our list in 3 hours.

The club doesn't give a **** about East. Why waste a rookie spot on a bloke who is mid 30's and going to play in our "development" team?

While I'm not a fan of recruiting Petrie and I definitely don't think we should have both he and McInnes on our rookie list, it's important to maintain perspective here that the opportunity cost of this is pretty low. I'd rather have an extra rookie pick too but on the balance of probabilities this is likely to cost us nothing in the medium to long term. We've had a pretty sweet offseason thus far and we shouldn't look at this as too much of a blemish IMO.

I would like Liam Ryan. I reckon there are three forward spots up for grabs, viz. Hill, Lecras and Cripps. I don't know whether any of them did enough last year to be a lock. I actually think Lecras is cooked.

Does he have to be on our list to play at east Perth? We should just bring him over to be a development coach and play at East Perth (not our playing list)

Disagree on Tunbridge and McInnes. Thought McInnes offered a reasonable forward target in the few games he played in 2015. Tunbridge has shown ability but his career so far has been ruined by injury. Not the fashionable views but they are mine. McInnes has been hampered by serious injuries also.

Disagree both are list cloggers.

I'm not full bottle on the alignment rules but I believe there's restrictions on who East Perth can recruit as players so whilst I agree with what you say I don't think it's possible

Lecra i agree with but i wouldn't be surprised if he pulled his finger out and had a blinder of a year like he did in 2015 after a few mediocre years. Good short team but long term we need to move forward with some younger players and his spot a position i can see us playing a younger player.

Cripps i think still plays his role well.

Hill meh think he is expendable also.

East PERTH would not have the available list points to take Petrie.

Suspect that Petrie is being lured over here with the prospects of some coaching jig sometime going forward. He could still pick up some reasonable coin in Victoria playing district or country football. So you would think the move was with some job security going forward.

Ah ok. Well recruiting Petrie to play wafl is the only thing more idiotic than recruiting him to play AFL.

I can picture this:

Eagles training, 1:18pm.

Drew Petrie's name flashes across the screen as our third pick in the RD. Vozzo gives the nod to Smith, who signals with light reflected off a mirror to the nearby trees.

Petrie, having seen the signal, runs out from his hiding spot in full kit, and then seemlessly joins into the drill. Everyone acts as if he had been there all day.

Minutes later he is seen doing the Frank the Tank move after slotting a goal, much to the mirth of the lads.

In my head I see him rummaging through the bins at west coast hq before Rawlings walks up to him and tells him to go and get washed up.
