List Mgmt. 2016 AFL Draft

same.
The AFL it self should have 1 big academy to develop very young talent from the rugby states as well as kids in very remote areas of Australia. Every club should chip in ( financial/faccilities/staff) as well as some financial support from Sponsors and maybe even the federal government. When it comes to the draft clubs interested in a particular player should bid for that player and the player gets to select his preferred club pre draft. Schooling is the only major challenge i can currently see but maybe the AFL could go into a partnership with a few Private schools.

Been saying this for ever.

In reality we already do "chip in" as the AFL funds the academies and that reduces the distribution the club get.

But the academy clubs throw a couple of ex players in there to coach, invite the kids to training every now and again, hold an event or two and provide some access to club resources and hey presto that club gets first dibs.

Its just a hidden form of cola to help keep the expansion teams competitive and sell more TV rights.

Thats why the Bulldogs win was so amazing. It was great.:thumbsu::D

Pick 12 is just at that awkward spot that makes it hard to plan for (well for us punters anyway).

Pick 18 you could pretty much write off any major sliders, but pick 12 you aren't sure whether to reach for someone who might not be around for your second pick, or wait and see who slides on the night.

By the sounds of things the club thinks he'll be around at 34 so unless that was a bluff, we can pretty much rule out the Shaker being at WC IMO, but there looks to be loads of talent available anyway
If we don't end up with him I predict that in 5 years time we'll all be here talking about how much of a f*** up it was not getting him.

If the AFL is are true about their views about equality they should do what I have stated above. Unfortunately the AFL learn their lesson when it's too late.

That depends Don Corelone entirely who we pick at #12.
If we pick a player who develops into one of our best 5 and plays 200 games for us then the f*** up will be mitigated.

That aside, there is something so palpable very raw and exciting about "The Shaker" that even before he plays his first AFL game has us all a little on the edge.

It has been suggested many times that we should throw a shyte loads of coin at Dustin Martin ..... and here we have a potential clone sitting right under our nose..... thats the tantalising part ... decisions ...... decisions.

Hell f*** the suspense just bring the draft on. :)

True if we end up with a great player anyway then it won't matter. But I just have a feeling that he's going to end up being one of the best players out of this draft and if we go a "safe" option with our first we'll regret it.
Agree with you on the draft, don't like the wait after the trade period.

I just watched SPP's 'highlights' again and the guy really struggles to hit any target, even under no pressure. Or when he is under no pressure he can't make a decision so puts himself under pressure and makes more errors.
I'm beginning to think, not even at 34 thanks. Would rather Fisher or Bayok. They might be short people but atleast we won't be pulling our hair out as they have another game with 50% efficiency

So does Fyfe.

You've got to think that the club tweeting about him is some kind of signal:

Bayok isn't in any way a realistic pick at our second

They've tweeted about a few players so I wouldn't read too much into that as much as I'd like to

Question if I may ?
Have you ever seen SPP play or are your comments based solely on the clips ?

Well if thats the case lets hope like hell that the go home factor is massive and he joins the Club he grew up barracking for after his first contract elsewhere.

So hopefully we don't have to take Waterman with our 3rd rounder and we can take a tall with it . Taking cameron +waterman with 54 and 106 would be a massive win after using our first 2 picks on mids / forwards

Berry for me sounds exactly what we need as a mid and would be worth pick 12 .

If spp was to make it to our second I would be stoked but I feel he may go between 20-30 the same range as bolton

If Hayward was still on the board at our second I would be happy to take him . He looks a perfect lecras replacement as that medium forward that will hopefully in time play midfield minutes

Must have missed them in my feed. Keyser Soze, have you seen his kicking in action?
I perhaps overstated how many have been linked - it's only been English and bayok so far. So just any WA boys it seems

Can't say I've noticed a major problem with his kicking - it could be better but I wouldn't say I'm the best judge of that. I like his attack on the ball and willingness to take the game on - brings a lot of attributes that our side lacks

Might not be the most highly regarded player at pick 12 but I won't be disappointed if we call his name out
