I don't get the disdain for Gallucci.
He looks to be a real talent for mine, I'd much rather him over Logue.
As above, I largely agree with your first assessment.
Not positive I do with your second but that's mostly on account of the variability in position and scope of Logue. Understand that could be appraised either way.

Cole, Duggan, nelson, lamb and sheed all played footy in their first year at the club. Partington and karpany are our only two picks in the top 40 to not play in their first season. Barass was pick 43 and didn't play in his first injury interrupted year but has cemented his spot in the 22 in his 3rd season

As usual Tom the Ninja is FOS
I also thought it was a bs statement but it could be harder next year for a young mid to get a game if redden, jetta and duggan improve. Add to that mitchell and there will be a fair bit of competition for spots.
On the other hand a good small forward or a hff could walk into the team

I asked Knightmare as to why he has us taking SPP now in phantom draft as opposed to earlier:

Knightmare
WCE based on draft history tend to favour those who had strong bottom age years. SPP was one who was impressive not only this year as a bottom ager. Just one who makes sense and seems to tick the boxes WCE look for.
If thats the case then Jarrod Berry would have to be right in the frame as it would be hard to imagine any bottom age player having a better bottom age year than Berry did last year. This time last season his name was being put up as a possible # 1 pick in 2016.

I think he is a very good chance to be picked up by us next Friday night in Sydney.

SPP and Berry are very very similar types of players.
Both have great leadership skills, both are hard and tough and quick.
Both have query over there kicking.
SPP is more versatile though and had spent more time midfield, with Berry more half back

I don't think Berry is a bad kick, not elite but pretty servicable.
And he has played a lot of games in the midfield for The Rebels, he continually got thrown into the back line for Vic Cty because of his height and pace combination, also for rebound and intercept marking ability.

His marking in general is far superior to SPP.

That said I would be happy with either.
Nice position for our recruiters to be in.

We have genuine interest in Berry, I have been told that other Clubs think he is very much on our short list at 12.

As much as I'm pretty much fixated on getting SPP with our first pick it does seem that if we do overlook him it will be for a decent player as there's likely to be several quality options still available

Hurry up draft day
I don't think I've ever been so relaxed with our options going into a draft before.

It's true but it doesn't diminish the importance of picking up good talent in a draft. It may not impact us in the next 24 months as such but this is rarely the case anyway when you are trying to finish top four. It will still be very important in 4 years time to have another good young mid from this draft to add to Sheed, Duggan etc.

And then we take English
Shame on you, what a awful comment ;) .

I happen to not like anything :greatbritain:. ..... sorry.... slight correction I do like the notion of an English Lavender connection.... ( Apologies Keyser Soze that was one of your creative lines )

Oh .... by the way Gidfather32 here is your Christmas Present if we happen to take English. :gift::pileofpoop::bomb::pileofpoop::gift:

Hope you like it and please open it slowly so that you get to smell the gun powder.

So Twomey's form guide is out this morning and reading his comments, it sounds like he is getting very little infor from our recruiters

This is his list of top 30 based on form. Not sure how he can do some of this as the likes of Simpkin and Witherden have not been playing.

Based on recent years, he has used this form guide to start to show where players are being touted as going. The only comments about us are Berry is around our range and with SPP that we would take him if he slipped to 34 which was unlikely. No linking us to English (sorry Godfather32 and you will be happy Monocle) nor any comments for us with Gallucci.

concrete rumors dont really surface until a day or two before, typically that is when twoomy posts his "accurate" phantom draft, whereas at the moment I suspect it's how he rates the players.

Emma Quayle is usually on the money, expect her phantom next thursday.
