So true. I was gutted when Geelong took him at pick 10. Thanks for reminding me of that, campaigner. On a scale of 1 to Cockatoo, how good is his highlights package?

Was hoping for a strong stay home vibe from Sps which might put a few off .SPS won't slide to 12. North would snap him up.
Though stranger things have happened before..
Everything Dark Sharks says is trueDoesn't he? I just assumed it was true
No faith in the club then? All this talk of Sps and gun mids that we hope will slide .
This is what will happen
pick 12 English
pick 34 some vic kid none of us had in the top 50 whilst there is still 2 or 3 gun WA kids that haven't been taken
Pick 54 random HBFer
pick 106 waterman
No faith in the club then?
I think club picks best available with the first pick then has a punt with a later pick based on a player's potential. For instance, Duggan was a pretty safe pick, lamb inconsistent with great potential, Nelson they obviously rated higher and Cavka could've been the pick of the bunch if not for unjuriea. Was fine with the club taking a risk on Cavka as most draftees at that pick range fail to make it anyway.sometimes I think the club over thinks or drafts on potential rather than exposed form or the obvious choice .
examples
weedon over Duncan
lamb over Blakley/mcgovern
not picking up menagola
taking a punt at pick 60 is much different than taking a punt with a 20-30 pick .I think club picks best available with the first pick then has a punt with a later pick based on a player's potential. McGovern i would have liked to have taken but I'm not sure Blakely would've been great for us. Pretty strong knocks on his disposal during his draft year from recollection and the majority of people on this board were complaining how vanilla our drafting had been and wanted the club to pass on Blakely.taking a punt at pick 60 is much different than taking a punt with a 20-30 pick .
We don't even really take a punt with rookies anymore . So many recycled crabs that never go anywhere .
You forgot about the Karpsometimes I think the club over thinks or drafts on potential rather than exposed form or the obvious choice .

Karp will show us all.You forgot about the Karp
The thing is if they had their heart set on Bolton from the start they could've traded out pick 12 for a couple of second rounders and got both him and another mid. I think Bolton might be the fall back option. We kept pick 12 in the case of some sliders, if not then Bolton will be picked. He will 100% be gone by our second. SPP is a possibility to slide that far. Now while i personally dont want bolton with our first i can see the clubs thinking.
Fremantle will take English lock it inAll this talk of Sps and gun mids that we hope will slide .

Seen a lot to Berry that I like. I would go Berry at 12 anf happy with Clarke at 34. Our midfield is starting to look competitive.12: SPP (Shai Bolton)
34: Dylan Clarke (Jarrod Berry)
54: Willem Drew (Bailey Banfield)
106: Liam Ryan (waterman or brett eddy other options)
What makes you so sure?Fremantle will take English lock it in
Trust meWhat makes you so sure?
Don't recall anyone saying he's an elite kivk at all. Most knock his disposal by foot under pressure. Would love him in the team however if someone like Taranto were available you'd be hard pressed not to pick them up.I think I'm the only one who finds sps overated his ball use was very poor through the championships......Yet everyone carrys on like he's a elite kick or something !

Not sure what you are on - people like his toughness and direct action at the ball. It is generally accepte dthat he fluffs a few kicks and he is forgiven. I personally see him as a reach at 12. The majority of options posters put forward at 12 seem to be very WA centric. I am a Berry man with a Taranto back up. There will be someone very good at 12 so fear not.I think I'm the only one who finds sps overated his ball use was very poor through the championships......Yet everyone carrys on like he's a elite kick or something !
