Last two seasons Eagles have been developing McInness as a ruck forward and last year as a CHB I Recall due to all the KP back injuries.

Hansen always played forward and was not flexible enough to play elsewhere. Hence his role was to kick goals.

So that arguement is pretty weak.
He has had 3 seasons before that to show something. He only got to an average level at WAFL level before they tried him in different positions. Hansen showed straight away he was decent hence why he was called up to the main team. McInnes has this year to show he is worth keeping. I can't see him staying though he just doesn't impact the score board enough.

I love your defense of McIness mate and I myself was guilty of being a Mitch Brown advocate for a couple of years however I think we as a supporter base and then as a club should change our mindset from the unwavering support of hinest tryers to undeniable talent, this also means the phasing out of such other players as Hutchings whom I also advocate for however is a ways ahead of McIness insofar as he has no other suitors for his tagging role (outside of Nelson)...

We need to lower our sentiment towards the underdog and fill our list with competitive yet above competent players..

We have persisted with these types for too long and success demands change, I think we are seeing this change from the club at present.

Agree with what you are saying and I have started to be a little less forgiving to players who are not delivering. My main point of defending McInness is he's not really had much opportunity to perform with JK and Darling holding down the two KP forward positions.

Hard to judge a player on WAFL form when we seem to be switching his roles around as well.

I think he's a good depth player who if he gets a chance may just surprise. Saying this I don't live in Perth so don't watch any East Perth games.

Now if you go and look at my view on Masten you will see a distinct different view. For his early years I cut him some slack and last year sure he copped a serious ankle injury just before round 1 but I want him gone. Traded out for whatever we can get. We have too many slightly built mids / half forwards and sure he can accumulate but he lacks hurt factor, can't tackle or break a tackle, can't kick a goal unless he's in the goal square and is holding up the development of others.

Hutchings I don't mind because he plays a defensive mid / tagger role and does that pretty well, he's a bit bigger, can lay and break a tackle. He actually does kick a nice goal now and again and he is cheap in cap space. Every team needs capable "role players" who don't use too much cap space. He also has a crack, so no issues with Hutchings output.

Okay cut the shit, where does Yanchep District High School rank in terms of high school footballing nous?

I'd like to think i was up there with Monocle and his caviar eating peppy grove mates.
Would smash those pretty boy schools in the fights on the way to a 20 to 30 goal loss would be my prediction

He went to Newton Moore (rival public school in Bunbury) so not quite :) .

Jamie Bennell however was two years older than me at bunno high
Really? My sister went to Bunbury High and I swear she says he went to the same school. She has some explaining to do...

Hansen had 100 time more opportunity than McInness.

How good was Hansen in his first 4 years?

Hansen was no champion, he was a big, honest CHF who presented a target, kicked a couple of goals and brought the ball to ground. That's it.

Hansen lacked the ability to pinch hit in the ruck.
Agree, Hansen was good in the air. But as soon as it hit the ground he was useless

McGinnity was a cheap role player.

Sorry to butt in - but interested where you guys rank Brad Scheer (as you are talking Scharenberg).
Most have written Scheer off to the Suns - but not sure that is necessarily the case. He falls outside the 4 top 10 picks we have and its said we will go into points deficit to recruit him assuming a bid in second round.
A round one bid though might actually get him ?
At least one of the phantom drafts has the Eagles taking Scheer (Don't remember which one however).

No

Everybody hates aquinas

For the most part scotch and Christchurch are western suburbs rich boys that are more likely to get their parents to sue each other than have a proper sporting contest

NB : I went to one of those two schools
The main sport indulged in by the students of these schools is the relentless bullying of any student who is unfortunate enough to be outside what is considered normal by aforementioned spoilt rich kids.

I would have thought that you would take him so as to give some sort of encouragement to your other Academy kids that are coming through.
He is a pretty highly touted draft prospect so IMO going into points deficit would not be the worst idea.
I rate him as an early second rounder.
Given the no go home factor it would be a big call from your Club to pass on him.

From WC's perspective if he is there at our second pick I would be happy if we bid on him, but not quite worth our first.

So your saying there all flat track bullies? Perfect for us

Real productive player. I like him. Suggest he's likely to go past the Eagles' first pick. I hope for your sake he's outside the first round. I feel that he ought be rated a late first, possibly early second (call it a 35-40% chance?). Do you think your lot would take him and cop the first-round deduction in next year's draft if he's bid on in the mid-to-late teens?

Couldn't even start the "other" schools with capitals! No wonder you were banished to the north west.

Most Probably - but obviously the earlier the bid the greater would be the pressure to pass on him. I don't want that.
Eade has repeatedly said we will draft 5 . Most interpret that to be the 4 top 10 picks plus Scheer, and the club seems to have positioned themselves for him to go second round +.
My query was to find out where someone like you guys rated him - you would know of him given his Western Australian background and your need for inside mids .
It appears 2nd round is the answer - which is reassuring ....

The only reason Christchurch has a capital is because it's auto corrected that way due to it being a major city in nz

I was surprised you guys gave up pick 35 to Freo for their 2017 second rounder, seemed like that might a nice pick to have if Scheer gets a bid in the 20s.

It'll be interesting to see where the bid comes, maybe the suns think it could be as late as third round.
