The stupid thing is that SPP is the safe pick. He's not vanilla but a WA boy that loves the club and has spent a lot of time around our coaches and players you'd think would be a borderline no brainer
What I struggle most with is that none of the draft predictions in the media are even mentioning him as someone in the mix despite the glaringly obvious connection. It's not even as if we've given away our intentions as a few scribes have said we given nothing away so they've had to guess what we're thinking
I mean SPP has openly said he'd like to play for us, the club Twitter feed has featured him most prominently of all the draftees and in an even draft he's not that much of a stretch for a club that has shown a willingness to draft a local lad rated below others (Sheed). He also provides a talent set that we could do with
Its difficult to comprehend that the small group of pepper lovers posting here are the only ones that can see what he offers. I don't get it
So far the only mention that we aren't interested is one of the matt tribe who relayed his mate at west coast said we weren't.
Hopefully his mate is wrong
Out of interest, as you're seemingly a fan of his, what does Gallucci provide that our existing players don't? To me, his kicking seems solid at best. Has some decent breakaway speed I suppose. Apart from that, he just strikes me as a solid prospect at best. Partington level.
SPP provides a lot that we don't have and for that he is worth reaching for. I hope we don't go the conservative route.

Well with Berry's mum, Parto's dad, Duggan's junior teammate and Shuey's sister all dying we should have a premiership midfield!
Yes I know this is in bad taste, but it would seem like a trend if we do draft Berry.
And yes I realise Shuey was already drafted at that stage
To continue the sad news theme Oliver Florent's father RIP died in August and interstate teams are expected to leave him for Melb teams so he stays close to his family ..

This was sourced off a Vic B/f thread so hopefully this is not false ..
Edit already mentioned but I'm still doing catch-up ..

No chance he slips to our second imo, I reckon he'll go around pick 18-20
Then we need to get into SPP's ear and get him to do an Ebert and return us to parity.I think Port will snaffle SPP with either pick 14 or 19 if we don't pick up if there BF board has their way .

the only top mid prospect I consider vanilla is Gallucci.So.. I assume anyone not SPP is vanilla ?
Simmo's mantraIf they can't leap, they can't play
Care to elaborate? From what I've seen / read vanilla is a pretty lazy description for gallucci.the only top mid prospect I consider vanilla is Gallucci.

Powell-Pepper appears more likely to sit in limbo through early choices and he will still available for selection by West Coast - the club he supports - at the Eagles first pick (number 12).
It is understood West Coast recruiting staff are contemplating taking a big-bodied onballer to bolster an ageing midfield, with Brownlow medallists Matt Priddis and trade import Sam Mitchell entering the latter stages of their decorated ball-winning careers.
Powell-Pepper fits the Eagles selection priorities and has been right under the club's nose in the leadup to the national draft.
He played at Eagles alignment outfit East Perth at under-18 and senior levels, showcasing his impressive possession-winning capacities and strength around the contest.
out of interest how much have you seen him play to draw this conclusion? I'm not trying to discredit your comparison, you might be on the money, but I feel like people label and chuck comparisons out way too easy. Prior to draft Sheed was that ready made mid with little upside + a poor mans s.black. In 2014 what we saw was a pretty raw prospect with a fair it of upside... go have a read through previous phantom profiles and they are often a long way of the money, hence why I dont pay to much credence to them. The best way i would describe Galluci is like a less classy young Andrew Walker.

A contact of mine* who knows SPP well says he's been told we won't take him with our first pick.
That's what he has been told, West Coast won't look at him with the first pick but will consider him with the second. Judging by the work done by other clubs in the past week it looks like he will be gone shortly after the first pick. Port, Bulldogs and Essendon looming.
