Change the record old man.

SPP is gone. He plays for port now, and until he comes home he's officially an even bigger campaigner than he was before draft night.

Venables will be a good player, i can't wait to see him in action. I think my regret in losing SPP was probably drowned out a bit over the relief and excitement in not picking English, Galucci or Berry. You fell for the oldest trick in the book pre draft Keyser, you got attached.

It's time to move on Hillary.
Fair point

I'll tell what - I stop posting about SPP and you stop posting player X looks like player Y and typing Marsden like its the funniest thing that ever come onto your head

Well that's encouraging. Not. Let's hope it's just growing issues and not cavka issues.
Yeh it's definitely concerning. I guess our medical team has experience with foot injuries lately so they'd have some idea what to look for when they were evaluating him. Are we able to do a medical on potential draftees before the draft does anyone know?

I don't think clubs can do their own medicals- as far as I know they get provided with a draftees medical records and the AFL may do a medical which is also provided to clubs but that's it

I have a vague recollection of Essendon getting in trouble for doing or trying to do their own medical on a draftee one year

Yeh I thought that might be the case, bit of a risk not being able to do your own examinations on some of these young guys

Clubs aren't allowed to do their own medicals to avoid draftees having to undergo a heap of tests. They can request extra medical tests but the AFL arranges it and sends the result to all clubs

Makes sense when you consider a player like Venables who has had injuries and was in a position in the draft where a lot of clubs would be considering him as a realistic target. He could have been subjected to half a dozen or more times. Also means the clubs have equal access to the information

Yeh, does make sense when you think about it like that. Putting a lot of faith in other doctors though.

No ****ing deal Andrew.

PSD starts at 4.00pm AEDT and the rookie draft starts ten minutes later

What time is the rookie draft on on Monday? Anyone know?

Imagine the melts (myself included) if SPP dominates next year and Venables doesn't even get on the park for East Perth
Vebables should get on the park at some point but we have to be realistic and realise that the above may not be to far from what happens next year.
As soon as Cockatoo kicked a nab cub super goal we had a few melt type posts and Cockatoo>Duggan posts. (although not the same as D.V/SPP as we didn't overlook Cocky)
No one will know for many years yet.

When Ebert kicked 3goals against Adelaide in his first year the Advertiser had a big spread on how this bloke should be playing for the crows, as Danger was still finishing school in Vic at that point.
Early calls are often shit calls.

Snoop Dog has the suns taking McInnis and us taking Ryan, Banfield and goddard. I'll be a very happy man if this happens.

If we could add Ryan, Banfield and Goddard or Olango to Mitchell, Vardy, Venables, Rotham, Rioli and Waterman plus NOT add Petrie, we have had a very good off season.

Garlett as a DFA would be welcomed.

meh I wouldn't melt. I don't really give a shit what SPP does to be honest. Never bought into the hype (partly because I didn't want to be disappoint).

I remember mentioning earlier in the thread how weird it was that we had all pencilled him in despite not being linked to him by anyone

On the other hand, when Nic kicked three matchwinners in his second game and everyone laughed at Melbourne, they've been proven more correct as each season has gone by..
