As was mentioned earlier, we're probably going to do nothing for 12 days then pick up a couple of leftovers in the last two days. I would like to see us do more but a quiet trade period's not as much of a disaster as it's cracked up to be. And I don't see the cows doing any more than us. Gibbs is pretty certainly only posturing, the cows wouldn't have anything they can offer to satisfy Carlton.

Given the point differential (220 odd) in the GWS Brisbane pick swap I'm not sure why the AFL let it through.

GWS are blatantly rotting the bidding system by trading above their likely first bid while also building up a mass of later picks to use as points.

Great trade for Brisbane though. I guess that's probably why.

Was 'aggressive' just a term coined by Rucci or did someone at our club actually say that? If so I am a tad embarrassed to be honest, because we seem to be doing the opposite. Once again all talk, no action Port. It's becoming a pattern.

straight swap, Brendan Ah Chee for Pick 30 - which would've been ours by default, it was the pick we gave up last year in the Dixon trade

bare in mind, Gold Coast already have picks 22, 24, 26 and 30 in the second round, they may lose these picks in bidding for Academy players like Brad Scheer, so that might bump it up the order

and around this range, we could draft Jack Graham, we seem to have a habit of picking up SA U18 captains: Will Snelling, Hamish Hartlett, Brad Ebert, Jimmy Toumpas, Sam Colquhoun

They have been quiet and one person who is worried is Kane Cornes, who only mentions it about five times a day during his NAB AFL Trade Radio morning shot!

If we used that logic we would never trade anyone for fear it might impact on someone's reputation as a Coach. We can cover Ah Chee's loss, he is out of contract and has apparently requested a trade so what's to argue about?

I'm not arguing, mate, I'm giving an opinion, my personal opinion, as others including you are giving theirs.

I'll be delighted if Arch is still on our list in 2017 and, of course, if he makes first 22 regularly.

I'll be less delighted, but not appreciably so, if Arch is playing with Callum at the Suns in 2017, doing well, and we've got overs for him.

I'll be totally undelighted if Arch is playing with Callum and we've got nothing or as good as for our five years investment in him.

Brisbane will probably target Bowes with pick 3 and there is no point matching with pick 4 when you can do so with all those second round picks. My money is on picks 4&6 for pick 1.

I'd imagine we're happy to keep him as well so the Suns will need to come to party with a good offer, something in the 20's would probably get it done. 30+ and there is no real reason for us to entertain a deal.

If it is true that Arch is contracted for 2017, then it will help us get a higher pick for him if GC really do want him.

Also, we've taken Carlile out of out 2017 TPP, salary cap shouldn't be major issue.
