If Hawthorn get a second round pick back for Sam Mitchell, his entire 15 year career has been a freebie for their list (drafted with a second round pick)
I went to like this post but i don't like this message - why footy gods why? shakes fist at sky

Happy to stay but wants to leave.

Errr ok then.

He's obviously really keen to make a mark play in a successful team then. Trade pls.

Trade period has been like our season. Underwhelming and nothing outside of the box. It also gives a good indication that our list is not that great and our depth players are very average footballers given no visible appetite from others clubs to show interest.

Or this is a very cunning plan to strike towards the end.

Bet it is the former

Did we win the flag this season or something?

Who ever done the deals for Lobbe and Hartlett seriously needs to come into question. Those 2 were meant to be the trade bait this season yet no one is going near them because of what money they're on.

Well done everyone, give yourself's a massive pat on the back for all that hard work.
This is going to set us back ten folds if we can't get at least another draft pick in the top 30.

i dunno about lobbe tho. it might not be the $$$ stopping clubs but football ability!

So we're about half way through the trade/free agency period and it's looking like our total involvement might be to trade Ah Chee to the Suns for a fourth round draft pick. Awesome. Can't wait for next year. At least we get Ryder and Monfries back lolololol.

Who in their right mind would think anyone would be interested in our trash?

Have you seen our list? It is not good.

There will always be a buyer if you are looking to off load at the right price, including potentially paying a percentage of the exorbitant wages of guys like Hartlett and Lobbe so that we can make room in the squad.

We're not serious. We've finished 9th and 10th the last two years with limited scope for improvement among the current first 22. Either be aggressive and trade in proven talent ala Collingwood or clear the decks and look to hit the draft hard. But no, we just amble along, hoping for the best, pretending that the last 2 years didn't happen and 'the real Port Adelaide from 2014 will return next year!!!'. God help us.

If we can get Ah Chee to the Suns for say pick 30 (overs but GC have high picks coming out of their arse and maybe keeping his brother happy is of higher importance), then we could possibly package that up with Lobbe to get higher up in the second round.

I'm pretty confident Ah Chee won't be anything more than average, so I have zero problem with getting him off our list. Average midfielders are a dime a dozen. We need better than that.

Port definitely has tried to be aggressive this year and would have shown every club the list of players up for trade but when opposition clubs have seen the tire fire of a list we have made they laugh and walk away.

Interesting.... Would we look at this ??

We'd probably need to find a pick in the 30s to throw back their way but it's definitely something we should consider based on the reported evenness of this draft.

I guess it comes down to who we have our eyes on and whether we think someone from the top group of 6 or 7 is likely to slide to 9 and also how we rate the second batch. If we have a group of 5 or 6 mids we rate fairly equally in that 9-15 range then the opportunity to get one of those at 14 plus another mid or even Battle at 17 then that would be a good outcome.

What a disappointment.

Had endless opportunities and simply wasn't good enough to take them. Makes him a perfect fit for the Gold Coast Suns.

Bye.

'Endless'

He's played 22 games and nearly half of them were sub-affected.

Can O'Shea has played 81 games. Paul Stewart has played 101 games.

General consensus on the GC board is their 3rd rounder (Their 7th pick, 44) for Arch.

If we want their 6th Pick (30) then we'd have to give something else up.

GC board? I always just assumed the people who inhabited theirs and GWS's boards were AFL employees.
