If, and it is an if, the Crows secure Gibbs they will have one of the oldest midfields going around. Thompson (34), Douglas (30), Sloane (27), MacKay (28), Gibbs (28) is really a now or never midfield.

How would they cope with the expectation of being flag favourites? Better than we did I guess. Gibbs good fit for them. Can't stand him and can't stand the Crers.

It is unclear whether fellow South Australian club Port Adelaide is in the equation to acquire Gibbs.
The Power are understood to have very little room in their salary cap, so it would be unlikely they would be able to lure Gibbs.
My impression was that due to the change in veterans rules we had picked up what would amount to about an extra $500K in our cap. And with Schulz and Carlile retiring there would be a bit more in the cap. Can't see us making a play for Gibbs though.
