It's Christmas, cash is tight,

Lololol

The club is amateur hour.

We could have got Bryce Gibbs and next year's 30 for pick 9. This is brilliant

Please, just ban me permanently. This club isn't worth my time.

3 memberships from this house won't be renewed, and there are 3 kids who will take their mothers advice that the club are all failures from top to bottom bar 4 good players so go find a local Melbourne team to support

We are a joke. An utter joke

We could have got almost anything for pick 9. This is beyond belief

Ford Fairlane, I know you want to, please save me 700 hours of keyboard mashing next year, permanent ban me please

My daughter will send her Travis boak birthday card back to the club too.

We're done.
If you're done with the club then just don't visit the site anymore you weird unit. Save the "permanent ban me please Daddy" for your missus

Can suck it!
If we were always going to trade our future first why didn't we do the deal St Kilda did with Hawthorn?

Could have got picks in the 20's and 30's and a future first back and then looked to get high in the draft with our own future first. Sure it would still have been a risk but the outcome would have been basically where we are at now but with a first round pick mext year as well.

We woke up too late and shat the bed.

Adding my amazement of such a stupid trade, but had to force myself, just like I had to force myself to go to 2010-2013 matches.

And yes, I have also received my membership renewal email. Incredibly bad timing. Now paying out for 2017 games is mentally associated with negative feelings towards the club for making such a stupid trade.

but we might have traded pick 1
whats the chance off that? low id imagine.

I think we will make finals next year which will make this a great deal. Using the draft points system if we finish 10th its about even. I dont trust the points system but its not hugely off. So if we finish 8th next year its a great deal for us plus we have one year development into our 2017 draft picks.

I dont know why everyone is blowing up about this.

We can also trade into the draft next year.

FFS!

1. We've gone all in on 2017, so we obviously believe that the draft has what we need and given our age profile we need the kids now.

2. We must be set to upgrade 2 rookies, or only 1 leaving a spot on our list again.

3. We must NAIL these picks. Stuff them and we're stuffed long term.

4. We fail in 2017 and don't make the finals and our club on and off field will fall off a cliff from which all our previous momentum will be destroyed
Is anyone really surprised we have gone all in on 2017?

If we don't make the finals Kern is history despite having a contract for 2018. Why would Kern care if we don't have a first round pick in the 2017 drfat?

She'll be happy

Pick 5 then.

Someone can do a "Hitler Does" on this. You can add my leaving as a steak knives throw in for the club. "And he has promised to stop posting"

We are heading down the path of the LA Clippers of the '90's. **** me
Just wait until our first-rounder flees the country to play overseas rather than play for us.

In before we use one or more of those picks for a ready made ex first rounder but now fringe player. :D

Can we trade Kern and Voss to the Bullies for Bevo? ;)
Surely they would be all over that, plus Vossy wouldn't have to travel as far for that god aweful fox footy show, the recruit.

How is this good for us Brett Anderson, I don't get it, am I missing something?
Yes, yes you are. My sources are telling me that we are making a double play for two guns. We are redrafting John Butcher #19 & Andrew Moore #30. Lobbe & O'Shea will also be offered contract extensions on the back off excellent holiday post season form.

"Several people will be judged by this deal and hopefully their tenure at Alberton will depend on it working out. I am sure we will all follow the careers of picks #19 and #30 with interest."

That is such a strange way to go about it & basically means Ken, Cripps & numerous others are going all in with the medium-long term of this club for a make or break chance at some success in 2017.

What a shortsighted way to manage a clubs list, i'm literally numb & lost for words after this morning.

Yep. How did we miss that golden opportunity

Trade pick 9 for 23,36 and Hawks 2017 1st

Then trade our 2017 1st in this deal leaving us with picks 19,23,30,36 and the hawks 2017 1st.

I could have totally bought into that deal.

Dear List Managers

You were meant to get back into this years draft by moving on the excess we have in average players who YOU have waited far long to move on. You were absolutely not meant to trade a future first round pick for a couple of 'hail marys' just to create a perception that you are capable.

Please stop insulting my intelligence by spinning this as a 'win' for the football Club. It isn't.

If you had traded guys when they had value instead of playing the 'good guy' card we wouldn't be in this position. If you didn't buckle on every possible contract or trade deal we wouldn't be in this position. If you had any idea at all about what you were doing we wouldn't be in this position.

You have made your bed, now lay in it.

Stop talking up a couple of average picks as something of value when it's balanced up by losing a pick that more than likely is a top 8-12, not to mention the hope attached to that pick this time next year if we happen once again to be our norm, which is average.

For a future pick.

Brisbane: we're utterly crap and need help.

AFL: here, have a 1st rd pick

Brisbane: sweet. Cheers. We'll save that one for Ron

AFL: "Hey Brisbane, you need help, we want to give you an early first round pick but we don't want to upset the other clubs. Any ideas?"

Brisbane: [looks at Port List Managers attempting to flip water bottles in the corner] "Don't worry, we've got this"

Exactly. Just trade our 2018 1st rounder for one next year.

Because the Hawks deal is worse?

Hawks
Out: 23, 36, 2017 first round
In: 10, 78

Port
Out: 2017 first round
In: 19, 30

Would much rather our deal.
