Because the Hawks deal is worse?

Hawks
Out: 23, 36, 2017 first round
In: 10, 78

Port
Out: 2017 first round
In: 19, 30

Would much rather our deal.
He was suggesting that we be on the St Kilda end of that deal, not the Hawthorn end.

It's Christmas, cash is tight,

Lololol

The club is amateur hour.

We could have got Bryce Gibbs and next year's 30 for pick 9. This is brilliant

Please, just ban me permanently. This club isn't worth my time.

3 memberships from this house won't be renewed, and there are 3 kids who will take their mothers advice that the club are all failures from top to bottom bar 4 good players so go find a local Melbourne team to support

We are a joke. An utter joke

We could have got almost anything for pick 9. This is beyond belief

Ford Fairlane, I know you want to, please save me 700 hours of keyboard mashing next year, permanent ban me please

My daughter will send her Travis boak birthday card back to the club too.

We're done.

See you later part-time supporter

Our list managers really fcked up by assuming we would just throw up some fringe players names and get loads of offers to get us back in to the 2nd round. When that did not happen they have panicked and are trying some way to save face. What a balls up of epic proportions.

Oh yeh, and great timing on the membership renewals Ports (takes auto-renewal off). Will wait to see what happens before I make that decision.

You forgot our pick 68 which I still have no idea why it was included, maybe it's to keep the momentum up of giving picks to the Suns just so we can trade them back.

Look forward to getting 68 for Ah Chee by the end of the day.

"Several people will be judged by this deal and hopefully their tenure at Alberton will depend on it working out. I am sure we will all follow the careers of picks #19 and #30 with interest."

Wtf? That is such a strange thing to say to basically admit Ken, Cripps & numerous others are going all in with the medium-long term of this club for a make or break chance at some success in 2017.

What a shortsighted way to manage a clubs list, i'm literally numb & lost for words after this morning.

.haha. it's dick measuring time again.

I take back my melt. Because on reflection, there will be more that. It's not possible to be that sad.

I could have gone in with 4 people from Meth street in Richmond and they would have scored better

Even if someone thinks this might work out alright, they miss the point.

We should have done better.

We could have done better

This is why I think there is more than just this.

It really is "good news, your rations have increased from 10 pieces per day to 5 per day

yep nuts to think otherwise. saints scored big by waiting a year hawthorn got the same deal if not worse than us. don't think anyone here would prefer to have traded out 9 instead of next years.

The difference is Hawthorn sort of have to do that to try and get JoM

Port's hands were not tied at all...

Don't know about you guys but I'm sure replying to the membership renewal email I just received.
Yes, just replied with this:
After seeing the diabolical trade we just made, can you please take off auto renewal the following memberships until I see if we can redeem ourselves by the end of trade week.

Be wary of what you wish for young man. That would really make our day wouldn't it?

On the 7th August 2016 Ken Hinkley said we definitely would not be trading our 2016 first round draft pick but of course Ken didn't say anything about 2017. Sure didn't see that one coming.

Have we now put ourselves in the position where we now can't afford to trade out any of 'the dirty 13' as we are so invested into success for 2017 and will look very silly if we bottom out and give a very high pick to brissie. Trading out depth players now may hurt us more all of a sudden with Ken and Co appearing to be looking after their short term jobs rather than looking at the big picture.
This trading of our future 1st rounder could set us back waaaay to much.

My mistake I thought that bolded was part of the article, edited to better reflect the situation but i'm still not happy about the approach we've taken this trade period.

I'm just going to try and cool down after this news as it's already ruined my day.

Here's hoping we don't top this disaster of a trade week off by trading in a few spuds like Greenwood at the last minute with the picks we've just rushed to bring in which would further add to the make or break route we've gone.
