Sheesh McKay from Carlton was pretty angry/disappointed in the Crows handling of the Gibbs news. Sounds like the Crows have gotten a bit excited and not even talked to Carlton before going to the media. Wonder what that sort of bad will could do to the deal. Definitely not smart.

Gibbs may well end up at Adelaide, however it will be an overs situation. They may pay similar or even more than what they received for Patrick.
Adelaide have had a stiffy for him for years and they obviously didn't pitch hard enough when they could have got him for nothing.
It's hard to see that trade happening now but if it does it will good viewing.

Pissing money and salary cap up the wall, could be up there with Daisy Thomas unless Wells put together 3 damn good seasons. Some of the players Collingwood have been linked with has really raised my eyebrow for a team whose meant to be a youngish team doing a medium rebuild.

By the Magpies offering a contract of $600K a year North may get an end of first-round compo (20) which would enable them to do some trading for the losses they have suffered. Although as Wells is older than Vickery, for whom Richmond got 26, North may get a 2nd round compo which would be 32. Shows how much difference there can be based on the decision of someone in the AFL.
