2016 Aussie Watch

This is a thread to follow how our Australians are going throughout the year and to keep up to date with all the challenger and future results around the place. I actually wrote up a couple of recaps and previews of 2014 for Bernie and Lleyton. I'll post over the next few days.

Alex Bolt my second cousin ranked just inside the top 400 in the world is one to watch.

Time for Ducky to start winning challengers, especially after a frustrating summer (I won't say bad, playing Federer at AO is a tough draw).

Klahn made the final of a challenger in Hawaii, so he's gone from Melbourne to Hawaii to Burnie in a space of two weeks.

(wc)Tammi Patterson (AUS) v Q

Miharu Imanishi (JPN) v Arina Rodionova (RUS)
Naomi Broady (GBR) v (wc)Ellen Perez (AUS)
(2)Irina Falconi (USA) v Q

Some interesting matches there. Interested to see how Tomic goes against Liv. She had a really bad loss in the AO Juniors.

Hoping Barton has a good comeback. Was on the verge of the top 200 last year before injury set in.

Storm Sanders managed to beat the 8th seed and former top 100 Julia Cohen 6-0 6-0, good year for her so far.
There's actually 2 courts streamed at the Burnie Challenger, which is nice.

Klahn withdrew from Burnie so no real excuse for Duckworth now; should be winning the tournament.

Anyone know what tournaments Kyrgios and Kokkinakis are playing in soon?
Both are in the Davis Cup squad, but after that I'm not sure.

Yep, he lost to a player outside the top 400. Not promising. Mitchell got a nice win today over Ito.

And unranked Chris O'Connell beat JP Smith. Maybe another Aussie to look out for

Reid goes inside the top 200 i'm pretty sure regardless of whether he loses in the final. Good start to the year. With any luck he can beat that career high of 187 or thereabouts sooner or later.

Dissapointing as he has a few points to defend. Just a he got a carrer high. Sam Groth won his first round match in Dallas against a wildcard.
