Jon Ralph sees him as best 22, twice. He is that good. What about this up and coming bloke on the list, one Dennis Armfield?
Is he any good?

The rest (except Phillips) have a bit more time on their side.Lamb did that with his handball to Cripps for his goal.
The tackles were quality and repeat efforts impressive.
He may be playing his role in what he has done to date but a 15 possession, 3 goal game would raise his stocks significantly.
There are just so many players we really don't know a lot about just yet; Plowman, Lamb, Sumner, Phillips, Gorringe and even second year players to the club in, Whiley, Jaskch, Smith, Viojo-Rainbow.
You'd like to think that at least 4 of the above will make it.....you'd like.
would anyone like to see Tuohy used on the forward flank? he has learned defense, let's use his kicking as an offensive weapon

Definitely are in the best 22. I bet sumner will be playing at least one game by round 6Can't call until we see all the players
I'd like to think Plowman and Sumner are in our best 22. Talent wise
B: Sam Rowe, Michael Jamison, Zach Tuohy
HB: Sam Docherty, Jacob Weitering, Kade Simpson
C: Ed Curnow, Bryce Gibbs, Blaine Boekhorst
HF: Andrejs Everitt, Simon White, Nick Graham
F: Andrew Walker, Levi Casboult, Sam Kerridge
Foll: Matthew Kreuzer, Patrick Cripps, Marc Murphy
Int: Andrew Phillips, Dylan Buckley, Dale Thomas, Matthew Wright
Kicking a winning score is the major issue at Carlton and Simon White has the ability and adaptability to complement last year’s leading club goalkicker Andrejs Everitt along with Levi Casboult and Andrew Walker. Former Giant Andrew Phillips looms as the best support ruckman for the team’s most important player, Matthew Kreuzer. No.1 draft pick Jacob Weitering has shown in his two NAB Challenge games that he is worthy of a starting spot in the 18. Sam Kerridge has been impressive in the pre-season and another former Crow, Matthew Wright, wins a spot on the bench as another midfielder who can go forward and score. – Howard Kotton
If plowman and jaksch end up doing well this year Rowe or White could be on the out.. Jamison will retire soon Sumner I think will also push someone outProbably accurate right now, but not by the end of the season.
Definitely. There's a lot riding on Jaksch and Plowman. Those two guys could be the difference between holes in the list and premiership capable list, all depending on whether they can fulfil the talent they have at AFL level. If plowman and jaksch end up doing well this year Rowe or White could be on the out.. I just put them in the out of it (for now) section because firstly McKay is injured for half the season, and likely wont play much this year and Cunningham will likely play very few games this year. Whereas the fringe players should be realistically pushing for selection every week and may play 5 or so games this year.most of our team will still be there in 5-10 years
cunningham & mckay are high draft picks , so lets hope they are not "out of the picture" for long add c.curnow
yes sure there is a couple of fill ins (wright & everitt) but that's because our drafting so pathetic in the judd years !!
The AFL Media have attempted to coin the phrase "baby blues" this season due to our developing side. As part of a backlash to our strong performance on Thursday night, Richmond supporters, and other AFL pundits have tried to discredit the "babyness" of our team. I'll take you through our best 22 to show you why WE ARE the baby blues, and why we have a lot to look forward to over the next 3+ years.

Fringe: Sumner, Jaksch, Silvagni, Byrne, Plowman, Dick, Sheehan, Gorringe
Out of the picture (for now): Tutt, Viojo-Rainbow, Korcheck, McKay, Wood, Gowers, Glass-McKasker, Gallui, Foster, Jones, Armfield. Cunningham
Roughly, that best 22 came out at about 25 years of age, and of course out came the baying hounds, Carlton aren't young, they've got a bunch of recycled older players, this rebuild isn't going well, etc etc.
But let's take a look at GAMES PLAYED
FB: Touhy (99), Jamison(146), Weitering (1)
HB: Docherty (49), Rowe(52), Simpson (243)
C: Boekhurst (12), E. Curnow(89), Gibbs (188)
R: Kreuzer (120), Murphy(205), Cripps (24)
HF: Kerridge (28), Casboult (53), Graham (17)
FF: Walker (192), Everitt (119), Wright (95)
Int: Buckley (28), Lamb (23), Phillips (15), White (60)
Which is approximately 84 games per player on average. However, when you look at the numbers. Our experienced core, Walker, Everitt, Kreuzer, Murphy, Gibbs, Jamison and Simpson account for 1213 games at an average of 173 games each. Take those 7 players out of the best 22 and the average games fall to a 43 game average.
If we proceed on the basis of the "3rd year breakout" theory, that suggests players breakout after roughly 3 seasons. Over the course of three seasons a rookie can expect to play approximately 10 games their first season, 15 in their second and 22 in their third, and breakout season. Which adds up to 47 games as being the mark of a player who - still has room to break out.
If we look at our best 22 and search for players who have played less than 47 games we are left with:
Weitering: 1
Boekhurst: 12
Phillips: 15
Graham: 17
Lamb: 23
Cripps: 24
Kerridge: 28
Buckley: 28
That is 8 players in our best 22 who have played less than 29 games and far less than the approximately 47 games by which a player should have broken out by. Which means over a third of our team truly are "baby's". Carlton definitely fits the bill of the "Baby Blues". What is most promising is that these 8 babies are some of our best competitors. Cripps is bonafide close to our best if not best player. Kerridge and Graham are essential cogs to our midfield, Weitering is alreayd a lynch pin down back and Boekhurst carries explosive run on the outside. Lamb, Phillips and Buckley all have promising aspects.
If we cast the net wider to outside of our best 22 you'll see that; Charlie Curnow (0 games)
Clem Smith (7 games) and Mark Whiley (20 games) are pushing for best 22 collection and also come well under the games played required for a player to break out.
Looking at the further fringe players who push for selection every week. Sumner (12 games), Jaksch (13 games), Gorringe (22 games), Sheehan (4 games), Dick (6 games), Plowman (20 games), Silvagni (0 games) and Byrne (1 game) are all placed in the youth category below the number of games required to break out. Players such as Armfield, Tutt and Jones may be pushing for selection and may do so well bigger bodies are needed but I believe a focus on youth will mean these younger players with an opportunity to explode will be preferred to the older and more experienced depth we have.
Carlton has constructed a well placed side for the 2016 season. A strong mixture of experience along the spine and through the middle, mixed in with youth on the flanks and edges of the team to help ease the transition. You cannot throw a team of first gamers to the wolves, which is why the Carlton experienced best 22 will hopefully facilitate the growth of the fringe youth. Carlton will look to remain competitive this season, develop a team effort culture and eventually a winning culture. After this off-season another culling of older fringe players, such as Armfield, Tutt, Jones etc, astute trading and htting the draft will continue to invigorate the list.
Look to Weitering, Graham, Kerridge, Boekhurst Jaksch and Plowman to break out this season and demand spots in the best 22. Looking forward to 2017 with these players bonafide best 22, more youth can being to be added by the likes of McKay, Charlie Curnow, Viojo-Rainbow, Cunningham, Sumner, Lamb, Buckley, Byrne and future draft picks to play regular games and being to develop as players.
We are the baby blues Carlton fans, and we are going about this the right way.
By years end I want to see...
FB: Tuohy - Jamison - Plowman
HB: Byrne - Weitering - Docherty
C: Boekhorst - Cripps - Kerridge
Foll: Kruezer - Gibbs - Murphy
HF: Graham - Jaksch - CCurnow
FF: Walker - Casboult - Sumner/Lamb/Galluci
Inter - Simpson, ECurnow, Buckley and Cuningham/Whiley/Thomas/etc.

Great effort, FBI. Our age spectrum has never been that important to me, particularly with the draft being finally used to our advantage instead of our detriment.
Love that half back line.Step by step going forward to our next really competitive team :
