Here's what I got from looking at the other teams boards on Bigfooty:
Tim Clarke: Richmond fans are celebrating that he's gone.
Neil Craig: Essendon fans are celebrating that he's gone.
Dale Amos: Was sacked by Geelong.
Shane Watson: contract was possibly not renewed. They're not exactly upset.

Celebrating that Craig is gone whilst shedding tears for Hird.............doesn't make sense.

The only thing I don't like is Trigg interviewing Craig and then putting it forward to Bolton. Bolton has been in the job 5 minutes and having seen Ratten shafted by the board is probably not going to push back too hard.

Having said that Bolton does need someone to provide wise council as he makes his way as a new coach. someone to say don't get rid of all your senior players and appoint 3rd year players captain.

So was the Barker whinging. Just proved the people doing it had no idea what an assistant coach does or how good they are at their job.
Tim was their VFL coach and they were mostly complaining about player development, positioning of players and the performance of the VFL side.

So you'd make it Boltons job to find and recruit an experienced coach?

Pretty sure he has plenty of other stuff on his plate right now. Let Trigg do his job, if he rates Neil based on first hand experience then all the better. There comes a time where you just have to trust those in charge to make good decisions.

Not the best we can get in terms of names but maybe in terms of fit.

In Crazy Vossy , Port signed one of the biggest names in the game as thier midfield coach ... we saw how that worked out for them .
We need our new off field team to be united , committed and driven .
There's a clean slate at Carlton , I'm looking forward to watching what we can build ...

I agree. People tend to look at names without knowing if they fit Bolton's plan. Coaching unity is important and development is where it is for us.

is he really that good? only looking from outside but has he had much success?
Minor premiership and 5 consecutive finals appearances as head coach. Never won the big dance but I tell you what, I'd be happy with 5 consecutive finals appearances right about now!

Gotta love a bloke who can carry off Blue Steel in such style.

#DaleZoolander :)

For those questioning Craig, take a look at the collective experience of the rest of the coaching Panel. I would have thought getting an experienced mentor type on board was an absolute no-brainer...Who else is out there that would be better?

mckay worries me just as much and he's in charge. whats his history of success and experience?

I like it...fresh faces, new canvass everything about it has a great feel...glad JB is staying I reckon he has unfinished business.....
