Good reminder of how well he is regarded in the inner sanctum of the footy club. Looking forward to us being more offensive with Pearce, Hill, Weller and Bennell running through the midfield.

Is anyone worried that Fyfe may leave at end of 17? He was overlooked for the captaincy which is voted on by his peers. Very odd decision in my mind considering how well he leads on the field and how well spoken he is off it. He may be feeling slightly rejected. Thought he was off today as well. He may have had an injury.

That was prior to the appointment of the next captain. Just making an observation, prob very unlikely but I'm miffed he's not your leader. Maybe he is too.
We have plenty of veteran leaders to pick from without having to heap even more pressure on a young kid already under such a big spotlight. We have the luxury of withholding the burden of responsibility associated with the role from him a little while longer so he can focus more on his own performances. Make no mistake though he loves the club and Ross, and in time he will lead the club, just not right now.

Business as usual. From what I understand, it's his management holding off for the first 6-7 rounds while he focuses on his football before opening up discussions. Sees how the club is going, what his options are, how the future looks at the club, test his market value etc. It's not driven by Lachie.
I think that the new CBA is causing a few player managers to hold off a bit while they wait to see what their position is. Don't forget, the negotiations for the CBA should be complete by June 30 (Round 15), and it wouldn't be unreasonable to see a 7-10% increase year on year for the TPP going into 2017.
Whether he'll stay or go? I think he's a gun and would love him to stay. He probably will. But it's like any job really isn't it - contract is up, so you ask yourself 'do i like it here?' 'is the company going somewhere?' 'am i paid what i'm worth' 'what are my co-workers like' 'what are my opportunities in the future'. I wouldn't stress about it all. Just let the process run it's course (and ignore all the opposition supporters with the inside word)
