anyone care to speculate why Malcheski is on the nose? Seems like value to me.
If you wander over to the GC board, take a look at some of their own supporters' views on Malceski. He's been failing to live up to expectations since he arrived at the club.

Gunston wont be going back with no Roughead available . ..a bizarre call
Suckling gone
Lake gone
Hale gone
Ruffy out for 6 months

Their team will move and adjust and there will be 4 players playing to join the rest.
Howe played last year in 4 games and his DE was the best of every hawk for 2015.
He'll be given his chances early in 2016 both as a mid and a def. His kicking is elite and he's done his hawk apprenticeship

This, watched some of game yesterday (no, only a little so didn't see him) and Bruce had interview. When asked to name the one young player to look out for, he went with Howe without hesitation as the break out contender this year. Yesterday I also read interview with Rutten in a paper, he flagged Howe as well.
Enough ominous signs internally from Hawks for me to really pay attention to him, now just need to actually see the damn guy play...

4 guys you speak of
Whitecross
Ceglar
Sicily??? Fitzpatrick??? Hardwick???
Litherland??? Hartung??? Howe???

There is far too much unknown and not enough job security, especially early on where Hawthorn like to tinker. Take the risk by all means, kid can score, I think he averaged 126 at TAC Cup level but I wouldn't think with the depth at Hawthorn that he will be first picked in that position.

Ceglar yes
Fitzpatrick hell No
Hardwick no
Hartung hopefully
Howe yes
Litherland only if further injuries arise

Because he's played 11 seasons, and scored sub 75 ppg for 7 of them. Because hes fragile. Because hes 31. Because he is sharing his role with young improving players. I had him for 2014 and he was magnificent, but i suspect that was his peak and while he will probably have a few nice scores hes unlikely to be a keeper and hes too expensive for a cash cow.

Tom Sheridan. Had him for over a month now. 96 or so in NAB 1, 9 disposals at 100% at QT vs Adelaide. Averaged around 90 from R17 onwards including finals last year (non sub games). 350k.
Lockety lock lock lock.
Looking alot better than Smith at D4.

McPharlin leaves him a spot.
Smith on the other hand, role unknown, new coach, hard early draw and will be better to be looked at first.

On the watch list! Seems to be playing a very SC friendly role.......

Absolutely none.

Sheridan seems the pick of the Freo defenders.

$435k an awkward price.. career best avg of 89 and has only managed 31 games in the last 2 seasons.

I'm really warming to Sheridan, think he will take the go-to rebound/exit strategy mantle from Johnson this year - he's a bit more than I want to pay, certainly a bit of risk, but I think he could justify one of DEF positions with a 90-odd ave this year. NAB or no NAB, 28 touches is decent in a 2 point game.
