He was never delisted

Out of the hundreds of players that have been delisted (not traded) how many have achieved anything at another club and there have been hundreds delisted

just off the top of my head from this year, M Wright, J Kelly, S Johnson, M Robinson, T Hunt....let me do some research though

Pretty sure Robbo and Kelly won b&f for their teams and wright was leading goal kicker...fyfe is never going to be delisted but fair to say there is some value in DFAs if you pick the right one.
I think your initial point was that DFAs are a waste of time which imo is incorrect.
So in short, because they cost nothing, there is possibly value there if you pick the right one

Nah Kelly wasn't, and Robinson although delisted by Carlton was more sacked for getting in fights and lying to the club. He would probably still be there if it wasn't for his behaviour issues

Grigg is the definition of "not AFL standard".

Good at SANFL level, one of the better midfielders there, but he just isn't good enough at AFL level

Exactly. He performed well at both levels and is better than the current day Thompson. Can't understand why he hasn't had a fair go at it in a team where elite kickers are rare.

It's because his elite kick is literally all he has. He's below average in every other area, and he's so slow that he can't provide even an ounce of defensive pressure.

Grigg is not the sort of player you want in a premiership team. If he's in your team, your team isn't good enough.

I cannot agree with this. He is a genuine footballer, just not an athlete (despite elite endurance).
I'd say he is at least good or average in every football skill required. He's just slow and in the wrong side to have that as a weakness.

Exactly. Could see him adding value to quick teams like swans, dogs or even cats. We have an imbalance at the moment. No room for slow coaches

Then why has he performed well in just about every AFL game he played in before Trampolinegate, and is consistently one of our best in the reserves, unlike our real plodders in Mackay etc. What more does he have to do to at least have a crack. Hes not real quick sure but what exactly are his other weaknesses?

Mackay is contracted he is there until his contract runs out unless you can convince another team to take him

Griggy has been delisted. Sad but true.

Such a shame. After he came in during the back half of the 2013 season I thought we had a player.

From the tidbits we've heard it seems like he's only got himself to blame. Lost the trust of the coaching staff.

Any whispers whether another club would pick him up as a DFA? Perhaps a rookie list spot more likely if anything.
