I doubt it. Not too many clubs are interested in slow one-dimensional players these days.
The club could have cut him at the same time as the Lowden/Ramsey announcement. I assume they kept him around in hopes of shopping him during the trading period. Nobody showed any interest then, and I doubt they'd have any more interest as a DFA.
I still think his most likely destination in 2017 is Norwood.
Do you think the club would look at Shaun Edwards again, I mean he has good speed, although he did struggle to break into a depleted Essendon side in 2016 but I think it could possibly be third time lucky, he showed good signs when at GWS but never really fit in with Essendon. I say get him as he will come cheap and there will be nothing to lose but so much to gain if we can get him going.

Maybe keeping our cards close to our chest depending on other potential moves ??
We would then need to invest in a new "Claude" costume due to how tall he is.

They also haven't washed it since then. Had to wear it at a few junior function days in the middle of summer a couple of years back. It is disgusting.
There are 6 spots. O'Brien upgraded so thats 5 picks in the draft. Has to be a Delisted free agent or Pre Season pick maybe.

We have slowly culled most of our slowish, big arsed inside mids in recent years. I believe that you can afford to have one slowish elite extractor (for us that is Matty Couch) and it seems like THE MAESTRO prefers midfielders who can play both inside and outside (Sloane, Brad Crouch, Douglas). IMHO Knight, Wigg, Greenwood and The RAT fit the bill. Whilst CEY was O.K. in the forward/inside mid role, I believe his position is pure inside mid. Similar story for Thommo and the recently departed Lyons (he played the forward/inside mid well last year but I believe he will flourish as a fulltime inside mid for Gold Coast).
If we pick up Barlow then I am reading the wrong tarot cards.

Nope. Rookie Upgrades had to be nominated in today's List Lodgement. O'Brien is our only rookie upgrade for 2016.
Interestingly, the media release mentions contract extensions for Beech & Hunter. No mention is made of Greenwood & Keath. I would have expected both to receive 12-month extensions. I'm not sure why this hasn't happened yet, or (if it has) why it wasn't mentioned in the release.
