I haven't seen anywhere that suggests Scrimshaw won't come to qld. Sun's are keen on him and if they don't pick him with 6,8 or 10 then it would seem that he didn't want to leave Victoria after all.

Yeah I reckon the Suns will select him with pick 10(Which will probably become pick 11 or 12 after GWS match bids for their academy boys).I haven't seen anywhere that suggests Scrimshaw won't come to qld. There's no guarantee we pick Allison or Watson we didn't pick all our Academy players last yearProbably already been discussed, we have apparently 5 list spots to fill, is that before or after Archies promo? If its before, thats 4 spots, Allison and Watson if they get bids leaves 2...So is it expected we'll delisted a few more yet? Green obviously, plus maybe Bewick/Lester?

I like Florent too but his father passed away a couple of months ago and he is the eldest child in a young family. Would seem unlikely he would re-locate.Oliver Florent really finished the year well. I wouldn't mind him being available for one of our picks from 16-21. Is quick and finds the ball.

People keep saying that Scrimshaw has been pretty open about not wanting to come to Brisbane. If that is the case there is no way we should draft him.

I thought I read somewhere, that we could be looking to experienced players for our later pick/s.
Would not surprise me to see us use pick 76 on Allison, pass on pick 78, then hope that Watson doesn't get picked up so we can add him to our Rookie list.
Then get a Barlow/Grimes/other to train with us in the hope to get picked in the PSD.
This still requires us to delist 2 players.
We could rookie list a Grimes like player and then elevate him for Skinner.
Makes the decision to almost trade in Hartung & Whitecross a strange one considering our current position on list spots
Schwab seemed confident that Allison and Watson would both be there late I think it's the reason we got pick 76 in the Frost trade I think it will depend on where they're bidTrue...they COULD slip through to Rookies as well.
Hounded down? That's a new one.I was hounded down last season for my love for Oliver I think Schache will be great though with Hipwood for the next ten years
Thanks Lionshine. Would love to hear Cotter and/or Quigley add to this conversation regarding Witherden and Berry too.
The way they are described; both leaders, good size, talented and highly skilled, flexible, potential mids in the future - I wouldn't be surprised if we took both if they were up and available at our picks. Could certainly do a lot worse IMHO.
Wonder if his recent family issues are a retention factor though...
Interestingly, Chris25 thinks Allison might be bid on a lot earlier than expected. What do you think the chances of that happening would be?Witherden I've warmed to a bit more lately. I suspect he'll be a type that Fagan would love to have in the side going forward with his size, skill and smarts.
I'd love to nab Berry. We could really use some young leadership types. They'd both be quality additions. Hard draft to predict where they will fall. All clubs see it differently.
People break different ways. Something that may break someone, can also be the making of someone else. Pretty confident the latter will be Oliver.
I was just having a look at some highlights on youtube (i know, highlights). Not sure I envy the people who'll be making the decision on draft night, hard to pick a standout from any of the top guys i looked at. I can see the Heath Shaw comparison with McGrath, but is his will his kicking reach the same level? McCluggage looks like a classy player, but apart from his forward smarts I didn't really see a standout attribute. Ainsworth is clearly a dangerous forward, great mark for his height. Still, you'd want to be pretty sure he can be more than just that at AFL level given where our list's at. I was actually quite impressed with Brodie. Looks good in close, but doesn't seem to just rely on his size and strength- showed some good evasiveness and also seems to have pretty good speed on the spread (bit hard to judge at times though). Disposal looks like it can be a little indiscriminate in contested situations though, and maybe tends to be a bit ambitious in general play. That's a criticism that could probably be directed at McCluggage and McGrath too at times. Is it just me, or do they both lack a bit of penetration in their kicking?

or something to be avoided in a curry!Power-Pepper? Sounds like a Mario pickup item...
Interestingly the Essendon board now appears to be debating whether McCluggage is a bit tentative in contested situations. He seems to divide opinion a bit- Knightmare sees Aker-like qualities, Chris 25 thinks he might be look Jack Steele (could be a decent comparison?), Quigley seems to think he's more like a solid Redden type with forward smarts.McGrath's kicking is good. He hits targets more often than not. McCluggage just has class and smarts. He knows where go and when to get there. You won't see many junior's with the same level of game sense.
Not many of the likely top picks are by any means stand out kicks.
On Allision, if he's bidded on earlier it's because another club wants to try and force our hand. I'd be surprised if that's the case given we can go into deficit rather than let it affect our picks this year(because this year is really what it's about for us list wise). On what I think the chances of that happening are, it really depends on just how high Chris25 is talking.

I think Chris25 has the bid on Allison coming at around 20 at the moment. He thinks Allison's height, speed + long kicking will attract teams even if he didn't do a lot this year.
I will lose my shit if we don't bid on Allison.
