And that's fair enough and understandable. It's just that these are 18 year olds who haven't finished developing physically, mentally and neurologically yet.

Something about speculating on a very young man's ability to perform with the fervor and enthusiasm that we seem to at this time of year just seems off to me.

He won't be. One of those blokes who breaks the lines and sprays the ball long because he had to palm 6 blokes first and adrenaline is ridiculously high.

Really hope we stay away from Liam Ryan. Goes against turfing Green if we pick up a bloke who could only record a 10.1 beep. That's actually so piss poor it isn't funny and clearly shows this bloke does not want to work for an AFL opportunity. Let's not even get started on the potential off field issues we'd probably have to end up facing too.

Getting pretty keen for the draft now. With four picks inside the top 22 we'll be sure to add an influx of quality young talent which will generate a bit of a buzz and excitement among the fans. It will be exciting to nab another A grade young prospect to partner with Schache as well. We've sort of been cellar dwellers for the most part since 2005 and yet we never had the opportunity until this year to add back to back top 3 prospects to our list. We are finally getting the rebuild right and adding the elite top end talent we have lacked.

Less so than the US sports with their ability to trade players without input, but there is an element of it.

More of a kid who took advantage of being hard at it against kids who might not be prepared for that kind of stuff. Bit different in the AFL.. Despite all the work that now goes in the draft by recruiting staff it's still very much a speculative business - especially outside the top 15 players.

I think the most valuable type of footballer at the moment is the Dangerfield type. Someone who can break away from the congestion at speed. This is why Oliver shot up the draft order last year. SPP seems to be the best at this out of this years draft. It might be because he's bigger but there's no reason why he can't do this at senior level.

Quigley picked us Ainsworth at 3, which I expect most would be pleased if happened in the real draft, but interestingly, the order went:
1. McGrath
2. McCluggage
