Other than GWS and Gold Coast reaping the rewards in the early stages - conspiracy theory 101 - we did fine. We are going to look like the Clone Army down back but we are left with options. Always been a fan of athletic lefties and we added some scoring potential. We chasing anyone in the rookie draft?

From our phantom, these guys are still on the board:

Scharenberg, Sproule, Duman, Junker, Maibaum, Morrison, Guelfi, Brayshaw, Zurhaar, Garthwaite, McCarthy, Jarman, LeBois

and there goes Garthwaite
Scharenberg and Sproule in the Rookie draft please

Why was SPS not All Australian in the carnival?

Playing for a very successful WAFL team where he copped little to no attention from the opposition and was let run riot as a kid playing at senior level.

Hard to say what happens at AFL level and if he gets going what will a tagger will do to him if it gets to that.......

Very skeptical pick for me at #6 in such an even draft.

So Flowers what do you think? I know you do a lot of research on the draft so did it stack up to what you were hoping?

Looks like a nice list. Footskills and pace aplenty.

Reading between the lines Polson was injured this year so went unnoticed and we have him as a project player.

Kerr will be given the time he needs but has shown something.

Macreadie a steal by the look and I suspect that Bolts is developing a game plan around having three tall, quick, smart backmen that can read the ball well, intercept mark, run and rebound.

Fisher combine results via SEN:

Repeat Sprint – 25.31. 20m Sprint – 3.03. Agility – N/A. Beep Test – 12.7. 3km TT – 10:58

Middle of the pack on everything for a midfielder, let alone one of the shorter ones. This is *the* moneyball pick of the draft, so no excuses if it falls through.

Pretty sure his assets are his skills, competitiveness and footy IQ...those stats are purely athletic.

Thanks for the support TL15, although I must say there are plenty more knowledgeable than me on here. I generally tend to stick to the top end of the draft - 30+ players or so, so i'm a fresh set of eyes for some of our later picks.

But I really like the SPS pick. I rated him, for us, as probably the 3rd best in the draft. I would have really only taken McLugg and Brodie above him, he, McGrath and Taranto all around that 3rd spot for us so I think picking him up at 6 was a good start. SPS is incredibly talented, but I wouldnt describe him as "mecurial" or "freakish" because those words take away from how hard he works. It's not some big surprise when he does something, its not a shock. He works his ass off, has clean hands, earns clearances and disposes well.

I qas desperate to take an inside mid at our 2nd. Fisher wasnt the highest on my radar. I was really hoping for SPP to be here. Unfortunately he wasnt. I would have taken Drew as well, as i rate him a fair bit but I know Fisher has a quality bit of upside about him. Touch more to him than your standard meat and potatoes mid.

Macreadie is such a good get. Rated as high as a potential top 3 pick in 2015, some where talking about the "rise of the KPF" with he and Weitering. From what i've seen of him he's got the mobility and talent to make him standout from other fullbacks and he's got the size to take the Gorillas. If we werent comfortable on JGM being our gorilla to finish off the backline we should all be confident now.

Poulson and Williamson i didnt know a lot about. Loving the descriptions of Williamson however. Poulson? We'll see.

Patrick Kerr. Absolute steal. All the sub-par phantoms had us taking him at 26, i didnt want him there but i wanted him. To get him so late is a huge boost. He has his limitations but he does the things you want a KPF to do, well. Marks and kicks goals. He doesnt have much x-factor to him but as a project.. hopwfully he'll come on.

Hoping we look at Scharenberg, Sproule and Kerbatieh in the Rookie Draft.

Bring on 2017

We are going to look like a rebranded 95 premiership team. Rock solid rebounding defenders, genius extractor and big dominant forward in McKay.

Rapped with fisher at 25. He is going to be a gun , those who are questioning this selection are poor judges. Don't worry about his size. I think we struck a really good balance and will get a few good prospects in the rookie draft
Fisher will be a ripper. Could very well play round 1 next year. Will never die wondering.

Isn't Macreadie the Rowe replacement - moreso than a Marchbank.

Time will tell obviously, this has been our best draft/trade period in forever.

Pickett, Marchbank, SPS...... that's a godsend. From what I read .....Kerr, Macreadie, quality that slid......and the rest (going Gilligan's Island).

These are skilled dynamic footballers and I am buzzing over it.

Roll on 2017.:rainbow::thumbsu:

I like that we went for a Polson. Players like Sumner and Lamb can't assume they'll get a game. Not to say that Polson will get one either, I know nothing about him, but it's good to see a couple more smallish forward types added to the list.

SPS is pure silk. He's no Cripps (who is) but wow he has vision and speed and guts. I also like the look of Fisher. His disposal especially. Bolts clearly wanted kids who had high disposal efficiency.

No pre season graft picks.

So we have 3 or 4 picks in the rookie draft?
3, but we have said we'll re-rookie Sheehan, so two picks.

Brayshaw, Zahaar or Sproule and a ruck would be nice. Or just two of them.

Not sure we're going to take Hish...

I was really hoping we were going to target big-bodied mids and instead we went for smaller players in that area.

Overall, I'm a little non-plussed about the players we picked up in this draft but what would I know, I'm just an armchair observer like the rest of us.

I'll put my faith in SOS & Bolts to bring in players with the right attitude and let them mould them into solid AFL players.

The thing is, we always want to top up the senior team but this year, we have probably given our seconds a leg-up with these young developing players. If they can be left there for 2-3 seasons to really learn their craft (both between the ears as well as physically) then our rise up the ladder may be slow initially but should really ramp up over a short period of time later on.

Can't wait for the 2017 trade & draft period now.
