Tarir Bayok
Outside Midfielder (East Perth/Western Australia)
08/03/1998 | 175cm | 71kg
is small but seems to be extremly quick and skilled, would he be in the 27 range or maybe a chance for our 50,s pick.

Just as a side note I heard an interview with guys from champion data who say next years draft is very strong. Interestingly they ranked us second to GC I think as far as our trade period went. I say this because I was wondering why we didn't trade our way back into the 1st round for this year. After I heard that news I'm ok with our having 2 selections next year in the first round ( credit where it's due to our recruiting guys).........

Not sure the full credit can go to the recruiting staff. We were getting pick 13 for Lids until the Blues refused to accept it for Gibbs and therefore be able to ontrade it for Marchbank. But either way we came out of it well and think we did what we needed to do

I know there are knocks on Peppers kicking, but he reminds me of Dusty in every other aspect of his game.

Would make a great medium/defensive forward early in his career before becoming another explosive inside mid in a couple of years.

Tough ball winners with pace should be our target and he fits the bill

Outside of his ability to break a tackle he is nothing like Dusty.

While I'm a believer in the "must be able to kick to play AFL" mantra, Clay Smith's final series did raise an eyebrow. Tough contested mid with a shit field kick but he played well in the forward line.

Most of the bulldogs players are very average kicks of the footy.

Do you really think so, or perhaps the lower overall quality of the draft means that more players are made to look good? Easier to look good when playing against a lower quality opponent, etc.

There isn't a lack of top end quality in this years draft.

Tough. Wins the footy. Break tackles. Explosive.

Seems very dusty like in those aspects to me??

What about attributes that can make or break a footballer?

Hands (fumbling), decision making and kicking are all very questionable.

Yeah but if he had all dustys attributes he'd be a top 3 pick.

I'm sure you know more than me about him but he would be my choice at 27

No, I really think so. There's not the big man quality of other drafts, but a stack of good mediums.

Clubs think it's deep too, hence so many combine and state screening invites.

Im pretty confident he will be drafted this year, Hope its Richmond but we are too bust keeping Maric on the list

Honestly what do we gain with Maric on the list for the future
We dont need him anymore. With Hampson being no 1, and now showing faith in Nankervis, they are the front line now. Adding the coming along ruck in Soldo solidifies this area. maric was just back up in case we didn't get Nanny, and we wanted to keep him for ruck coaching and to keep other clubs away. He can earn more a player doing this.

Scharenberg or someone as good as him will be available at 56. So many draftable players this year, it would have been nice to have a couple more picks in the 20-50 range.

There will still be bargains very late, so I would be delisting all four of our uncontracteds and taking at least four kids in the draft.
If we don't upgrade players we can take 4 players.

Honestly I dont care what sort of DE% someone like Powell-Pepper or Clarke or any of the inside ball winners have. If they can get first hands on the footy and get it heading our way then that's fine, add in the ability to be defensively accountable and the ability to stick tackles and IMO weve got ourselves a player. Have a look at some of the Dogs and Swans ball winners doubt their DE% is very high but they do exactly what i just mentioned and exactly what we're missing.

Didn't Patrick Cripps have the same knocks on him prior to being drafted? Turned out to be a good player so far.
