Dusty was arguably the best player in the comp this year? Would we we revert him to a half forward / pinch hit mid?

We need him, Cotch, Prestia & Caddy in the middle to be a decent side. 80/20 mid/fwd is ideal.

You can't have Cotchin Dusty Prestia and Caddy in the middle at the same time, what you can have is 2 of them in there rotating with the other 2 so that we have our best ball winners always on the ball. This is why our drafting becomes important. Get another 1-2 genuine inside midfielders who can play there from day 1 and we can then have 3 genuine ball winners always around the ball at stoppages and can then feed it out to the outside types like the Ellis' Menadue McIntosh Markov Houli Yarran & Short. That happens and I'm confident that we'll see a much better style of footy being played by us.

Other than at centre bounces, you can. Sydney would have Kennedy, Parker, Hannebery, Mitchell at nearly every general stoppage.

I get that and that was what I was talking about earlier when I posted about him starting at HF and then pushing up into the middle and getting around the ball that way rather than starting on ball, the other bonus being that not many defenders would be happy lining up on Dusty early on in the game inside our F50.

As both RATD and I suggested you can have them up around the contest once the ball is in play. In the middle you need to have 2-3 outside them who can break away from the stoppage and get the ball moving quickly, which is where the likes of the Ellis boys Menadue McIntosh Yarran Houli & Short all become very important.

When it comes to the draft I'm starting to look towards those inside types with a bit of power and size about them as the ones we should be targeting. I'm drawn to guys like Sam Powell-Pepper Dylan Clarke Willem Drew Josh Begley Myles Poholke & Jonty Scharenberg and would be rapt to see us get 2 of them with our first 2 picks although that is unlikely.

He does make a valid point our drafting after the first rounds has been really poor. However I do think the last 2 drafts are promising, especially 2014.
Would rate these guys as chance to be above average or elite (ones in bold most likely)
Menadue, Drummond, Short, Castagna, Markov, Chol, C Moore.

It's the best it's looked two years after a class in a long while.

Personally I'd like to see us starting him at HF and going into the middle as play unfolds rather than starting in the middle. I think he is much more dangerous in that role as he can lose a tagger in traffic. Although I suspect he'll be playing the way you suggest.

I agree, and I think it may depend on how we want to fit all in within the middle rotation. I like caddy as the mainstay centreman, so maybe those 2 can rotate thru that.

Agreed we were talking about centre square stuff, and after that the high half fwd role is very important.

That's funny, I remember you being bullish about our Nathan Gordon selection and a champion of Dayle Garlett? Don't knock fans having a bit of fun with a phantom when you're clearly in dark like the majority of us when us comes down to actually watching these kids play.
