Wouldn't mind taking another small forward with a rookie pick, especially if the plan is for Cameron to head to the wing full time eventually.

No point taking ANOTHER small forward. We have Betts, Cameron, Milera, Menzel, Knight that can do that role.

Would rather take a gun mid with our first, then with remaining picks - a ruck/forward to replace Lowden, 1xKPD, 1xKPF, 1xUtility, 1xMid. Or something like that.

PS-Wouldn't mind if we took a foreign, tall Cat. B rookie. Mason Cox is looking alright, and we are allowed 3 Cat B rookies I believe so might aswell take the risk.

At the end of the day they have all earmarked for minutes in the midfield and I did say a rookie pick, so it's hardly a huge investment.

Betts will be the only one who stays full time and neither Knights, Menzel or Milera currently play as small forwards.

1st pick: Midfielder
2nd pick: Midfielder
3rd pick: Developing KPD to replace Shaw

1st Rookie: Whoever looks the best
2nd Rookie: Developing ruck to replace Lowden

I wouldn't even bother grabbing a KPF outside the first two rounds, and we don't have a 2nd round pick this year (and midfielders are clearly a priority with 1st pick).

That said we'll draft on talent as we always do

Inside, clearence machine with a turn on speed and a big, strong body. That is the type of midfielder we currently need. Having said that a lot of this depends on how the club sees our midfield next season.

This is a bit of a lull year for us in terms of midfield but next year you will probably see a much different midfield with the improvement expected from players on the list already. Brad Crouch should be a lot better next year. Matt Crouch should be fitter which will make him a better player by being more consistent in 2nd half of the games. I am sure that the club sees Menzel spending a reasonable time in the midfield once the fitness and the work rate picks up. Milera will be better as should Atkins. Maybe Greenwood comes on and maybe even some of the lesser lights in Gore, Wigg and possibly CEY might take their game to the next level. Who knows where the clubs sees Hampton once he gets on the park? Do they turn back the clock and develop him as a midfielder?

I have often said that all of our trade targets last year were recruited with long term impact in mind and not necessarily 2016. We essentially recruited young, underachieving and/or misused (in terms of position) talent and we are backing in our development program (which has been good) to turn them into players that reach their potential. Some will, some won't but if next season we can roll a fully fit and firing Brad Crouch, Troy Menzel, Curtly Hampton and Hugh Greenwood through that midfield then all of a sudden it's a pretty big midfield with some genuine skill, break away pace and marking ability.

It all comes down to how the club sees the progress of these players. If they are comfortable where they are at, then I wouldn't expect us to bust our ass for a midfield gun. Fans can be notorious for lacking patience or ability to judge players in a measured calm manner. They are often blinded one way or another (gun or spud)!

Ben Jarman in the bests is good to see.....

The McDonald's SA Under-18 team has made it two wins from two starts with a 37-point victory against Western Australia at Football Park on Sunday.

After accounting for the Allies by 44 points in their opening match, the Croweaters put on an even stronger display against the Sandgropers, leading at every change to remain undefeated.

South Australia's midfield dominance was again a major factor in the outcome, with captain Jack Graham and his deputy Jonty Scharenberg again influential at the stoppages and around the ground.

Norwood's Jake Pitman has another strong game while Glenelg's Sam Walker and North's Ben Jarman were other significant contributors for Brenton Phillips' charges.

Glenelg's Darcy Fogarty took his Championship tally to six after booting another two while Will Hayward was SA's other multiple goalkicker.

The McDonald's SA Under-18 team will now host arch-rival Victoria Metro at Football Park next Sunday, June 19.

The final match of the 2016 AFL National Championship will be against Victoria Country at Etihad Stadium on Friday june 24.

I think we should be targeting Jack Graham, will be around our pick as well. If hendo leaves as a ufa, would we recieve anything? Maybe 3rd round? Then trade 2 3rd rounders for a second

Definitely need an athletic big bodied midfielder in our mix. We've got enough working class dour type inside midfielders, need a bit of X factor with a big athletic body in there.

What position is Ben Jarman playing?

We'll need a new genuine key forward talent to be reaching their prime in 5 years time to play alongside McGovern in a post Tex and JJ forward line, reckon we will look for that guy in this years draft so he is 23 in 5 years time.

Ainsworth has a bloody good set of hands. Has a good kick on him too (although he missed a gettable shot), but he is small. Positioning is good. Could be a forward version of Rory Laird?

Thomas Jok another I haven't heard heaps about - tall, athletic wingman by the looks of things. Doing well, but seems very raw.
