Think what we really need is a taller mid with strong athletic prowess & X factor + pace that can kick the ball 50+.
Curtly Hampton

Possibly another midfielder that you don't find beyond pick 5, someone that can get the hard ball as well as the outside ball & be damaging in both areas, contested marking ability is almost useless with our game plan, we rarely kick to contests especially in the middle of the ground, our game style is play on + run & carry.
Brad Crouch

Another winger that can pinch hit in our forward line as well as working their way through the middle with precise kicking, maybe a left footer? Would be cool having another left footed mid with Atkins and Crouch.
Menzel

So these 3 players have played 3 games total for the crows 1s this season.

I'd say we draft best available in the first round then go for some KPF's.
Keath is our backup for Shaw.
Jack Scrimshaw
Utility
193cm/80kg
4/9/98
Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro

Injuries have restricted Scrimshaw over the past couple of years but a strong championships could rocket him right into the top group of draft prospects. Scrimshaw's height and game sense makes him an appealing prospect for clubs, given he is big enough to hold down a key position but tends to play his best footy through the midfield. The left-footer is precise by foot, steps up in big moments in games and, if a recent Vic Metro trial game is any indication, he looks set for a good carnival.

Sandy Dragons is Mama's Boy central ala Jack Gunston.

Looks like the 2016 draft will be held in Adelaide again this year.

Are you sure his name isn't Jack SamShaw? Sounds a lot like the player we already have.

Good call - like him a lot . thought he may need to work on his contested ball/ hardness but he looked really good on Monday !!

Sorry, didn't quite know where to put this ......but this is the best 27 minutes of Crows discussion on SEN radio Melbourne you'll hear this year between David King and Glen Luff from Champion Data .....with a fascinating interview with Hamish Ogilvie

It's a MUST LISTEN! ......guarantee I'm not wrong

Funny that Ogilvie never mentioned noble in all of that discussion and apparently he's the guy that runs everything to do with the list and trades

On the flip side if noble is the guy that runs everything to do with with drafting , trading etc ( because Ogilvie and Reid report to him ) then we should be celebrating him according to that interview

Keep an eye on a kid called Jack Roughsedge 185cm 84kg from the Oakleigh Chargers as the year goes on, 1st game back this year 39 D 17K 22HB 8T 4M....could be a real smokey though he's probably on the radar now...

Nickname: Whalebone.

IT is a tight ship and they all respect each other.
There was no need to mention David Noble in that interview.
Hamish is doing a cracking job - as is all the team.

With Thommo most likely retiring, think we should target Graham, sharenburg or drew, as good as Matt Crouch is and going to be, all those 3 have potential to play in different positions. MCrouch can only really play centre.
We have enough runners now, think we need players who can find the ball and can mark.

Sheesh bicks will do

Didn't think yesterday's WA vs Allies game was near the quality of the Vic Metro vs Vic Country game and some of the Allies players touted as "Guns" didn't fire. Marshall looks good but miles off AFL bodywise, Jack Bowes underwhelming, liked the look of Zac Sproule a lot.

For WA Pepper-Powell looks AFL ready, P-Seton wasn't as dominant as I expected but he's all class, Rotham highly impressive, Strndica disappointing, Starcevich I liked his game, Shai Bolton plenty to like about his game, Hampton showed a bit too and Tim English bodywise miles away but I don't think I've ever seen a ruckman with such elite foot skills...amazing.

From the WA side:
Sam Powell-Pepper would be a good target for us (good speed, elite endurance, inside/outside mid who can rest forward).

Guelfi would be another cheaper mid option.

Shai Bolton a good talent but would likely be a pure small forward at afl level and probably not a pressing need at this stage.

Think there is a strong reason for giving CEY a 2 year deal until end of 2017. Reckon he is the replacement for Thomo and is currently working on different attributes at sanfl level. Will see big game time next year whether Thomo plays on or not.

SA over run in the last quarter by the Vic Metro boys with 6 unanswered goals, Andrew McGrath for Vic Metro again B.O.G. with 27 disposals, Pitman best for SA with 29 disposals.

Taken from the SANFL site with regard to SA.

The McDonald's SA Under-18 team has lost its first match of the AFL National Championships, succumbing to a fast-finishing Vic Metro by 3 points on Sunday.

Seeking to win their third match in succession after opening victories against the Allies and WA, the Croweaters looked set to retain their unblemished record after heading to the final change with a 35-point buffer.

But Vic Metro's never-say-die attitude came to the fore in the fourth quarter by slamming on six goals while restricting SA to just two behinds, in the same process overcoming their inaccurate kicking in front of goal.

Norwood midfielder Jake Pitman continued his fine campaign after being named SA's best performer, the third successive occasion he has appeared in the best players.

Glenelg pair Sam Walker and Mitchell Hinge also put in strong performances while the fleet-footed Steven Slimming (Sturt) and Alex Villis (Norwood) also provided run for Brenton Phillips' outfit.

Will Hayward was again SA's leading goalkicker with three majors while the exciting Jordan Houlahan booted two goals in his first appearance of the carnival.

SA will now prepare for its last match of the AFL Under-18 National Championship, against Victoria Country at Etihad Stadium on Friday June 24.

Starting at midday, SA's final match will be screened live on Fox Footy Channel.

Taken from the TAC site with regard to Vic Metro

Vic Metro staged a huge last-term comeback to snatch victory over South Australia at AAMI Stadium in the NAB AFL U18 Championships on Sunday.

Metro – proudly supported by Dairy Australia – trailed by 35 points at three-quarter time, but booted six unanswered goals in the final stanza to pip the Croweaters by three points on their home turf.

The heroes in front of goal were Oakleigh Chargers forward Pat Kerr – who kicked four goals in the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter – and Sandringham Dragons midfielder Oliver Florent, who followed up with two late majors of his own.

Sandringham’s Andrew McGrath backed up his superb performance in Metro’s thrilling two-point triumph over Vic Country last week with a team-high 27 disposals, as well as six marks and six rebound-50s.

Alongside Florent’s cameo, some of McGrath’s other Dragons teammates played big roles in the win, with Jack Scrimshaw racking up 22 disposals and six rebound-50s, while Tim Taranto had 20 disposals, six marks and five inside-50s.

Eastern Ranges captain Dylan Clarke was a bull in the contests with 24 disposals, nine clearances and five tackles, and received assistance from Northern Knights on-baller Luke Bunker (18 disposals, five clearances) and Eastern’s Callum Brown (16 disposals, five clearances).

Meanwhile, Western Jets mid-forward Daniel Venables – the kicker of Metro’s match-winning goal last week – was another to impress with 16 disposals, nine tackles and two majors.

Metro peppered the big sticks without reward in the first quarter, only managing five behinds as the Croweaters kicked two goals in the opening nine minutes to set up an eight-point advantage at the first break.

Clarke and Venables kicked majors in the second term, but SA put four of its own on the board to lead by 18 points at half time. It then extended that advantage to 35 by the last change despite Metro having the same amount of scoring shots. Pat Kerr had been the biggest contributor to that inaccuracy with four behinds, while Taranto and Ranges midfielderJordan Gallucci missed three each.

Whatever Vic Metro coach David Flood said in the team huddle prior to the last quarter clearly worked a treat though, as his troops – and Kerr in particular – came out breathing fire.

Their late goal burst means Metro remains undefeated ahead of its third match of the Championships this Friday against the Allies at Etihad Stadium from 2.35pm. Vic Country will play its third game of the carnival against South Australia earlier on Friday from 12.35pm, also at Etihad Stadium.

VIC METRO 0.5 2.9 3.11 9.15 (69)
SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2.1 6.3 10.4 10.6 (66)

Vic Metro goals: Pat Kerr (Oakleigh) 4, Daniel Venables (Western) 2, Oliver Florent (Sandringham) 2, Dylan Clarke (Eastern)

Vic Metro disposals: Andrew McGrath (Sandringham) 27, Dylan Clarke (Eastern) 24, Jack Scrimshaw (Sandringham) 22, Tim Taranto (Sandringham) 20, Luke Bunker (Northern) 18

Who are the good prospects at the Calder Cannons? We like drafting from them.

Not very inspiring this year, Karl Brown only player to make the Vic Metro squad...
Zac Guthrie [Cam's brother], Saad and Magbegor maybe some chance in later rounds...

Some of the allies kids haven't performed as they haven't played well as a team. Haven't gelled at all

Setterfield was quiet but he will be a top 5 pick IMO

Perryman is a gun, AFL ready . Needs to play off half back full time as takes intercept marks and a great kick. Super tough

For WA Loved Zac Fisher - reminds me of gaff but also good at winning his own ball

Powell-Pepper might be in our range and suit us well. Explosive in/out mid . Bit of danger about him. Apparently a good character

Reckon the draft is super strong . WA has lots of talent as does metro/country and NSW . Queensland also has a few, Williams off the wing is a good one and Sheer prob the best pure inside mid in draft.
