I was having this debate with Dally. We were talking about Bont's year and how we were lucky to get him - Scharenberg and Aish were the others we would have taken (Bullet. Dodged.) - but how many top 5 draft picks who are almost purely outside players, have succeeded. I only named Whitfield as one who had done well but I couldn't think of another?

We also agreed that Brad Hill will be an interesting case as a purely outside player reliant on others to bring him into the game, how will he go in a different system?
Do you still see Bont as an outside player? His clearance stats are pretty good aren't they?

Is it just me or is there a dash of Cooney in yhe way 'Terry' Venables plays?
A rougher/scrappier version of him perhaps
Maybe he has an ankle/foot injury though?
I said Dunkleys kicking was shocking last year but didn't know he had an injury which would have affected his kicking, still gets knocked on his kicking though but it was far worse when I saw him

Yeah very keen, they just don't reckon he'll be there. Freo at 7??? is likely.
That's been the word all along but I reckon they won't take him, Logue I'd predict them going for. Gold Coast could bite with their last pick, with 4 top ten picks you can afford to risk one on a prospect like English.

Will be interesting with Cumming, you'd think GWS would probably match but if they get stripped of picks it'll make it interesting.

Who does he rate the highest this year?

English over Marshall, Marshall over Cumming.

I'm sure there's a lot more, so it'll be interesting to see who we end up with.
Cumming a chance at 18 if English and Marshall are gone? Would be hoping for a slider over Cumming, 18 feels really early for him.

A little tongue in check mate , cause I know nothing other than those highlights package.
But Florent dosn't seem to have any real attributes that set him apart.
Looks a little outside to me and only a so so kick.
Like Venables , seem 4 1/2 minutes of him , but like his intensity at the contest.
Can see him in a Bulldog jumper :thumbsu:
Florent has a lot of good attributes which would suit us. High endurance and agility and can play half forward and in the middle. In our team he'd be an outside mid but I don't think he's an outside only player by any stretch. Has some flair and moves well.

Ok don't know.

Didn't ask about players we can't get.

I don't think he'd be our top pick, I think he's later, as you say.

Snoopdog: "Isaac has had a terrific back half of the year and i would think he is going to be taken a little higher than this later this month. He is a very composed player who is best suited to half back where he reads the play really well and can use his elite ball use to set teams up. He also has an ability to intercept mark and more than happy to go back into traffic with ribs exposed. One of the things you also tend to like with this kid is he will use his foot skills to spread teams. One kick he is going sideways to open up space, next kick will be 45m off the flank into the corrider and release a player through the middle."

With Boyd and Murphy leaving the kennel soon, if we're keen on him he'd be a great first pick.

That does make him sound good but there's other descriptions that aren't as glowing (but still positive). Great selection at 26, but I'd be hoping for more at 18.

You would have more idea than I would mate. As I said I only see highlights of these guys.
So I can understand you guys may see me as a little irrational .
But Florent has that Fiora look about him. Just dosnt look a first rounder to me.
At the end of the day in Dal we trust ;)

Btw TAC System is changing very soon and so is the VFL
Next Gen Academy will become a powerhouse development program

Would be very happy to take the punt on Marshall with our first. We are in such a great position to do so. Has absolutely no pressure on him to develop quickly and he can learn from some mature age forwards and eventually partner Boyd.

Would go Ryan with our second. A ready made back man to immediately fill the void of Boyd, Morris, Murphy is key.

Long with our 3rd.

Would you be so kind as to let us know a little of what you had heard?
It's been known for a while we're into him (one of a couple teams who went to his home town to visit him) and now it sounds like some are ready to take him before us so him at 18 doesn't seem a reach anymore.
