What was the knock on Karl Brown, always seemed to be amongst the goals last year. Was it just his lack of height for a key forward?

No knock, just a first year player finding his feet in the system. Has a really late birthday, had some injuries, but was always going to come back as a 3rd (2nd) year player.

he has definitely had a bit of a rough run with injuries, I thought that he was named into the metro side last year. But I don't remember him playing a game.

Named for Metro but hurt his knee about two weeks after getting added to the squad. I believe he's back at VM this season.

Would you believe that he's also the cousin of the great Danny Del-Re?

FORMER Dromana small forward Sam Fowler has emerged as a draft prospect following an impressive start to the TAC Cup season with the Dandenong Stingrays.

He has booted 16 goals in four games, fuelling the Stingrays surge to top spot.

On Saturday, Fowler slotted five goals in the Stingrays’ 15-point win over the talented NSW ACT Rams at Frankston Park.

The Rams had beaten Vic Country and Calder in the past two weeks.

But the Stingrays prevailed 15.5 (95) to 12.8 (80).

Fowler’s form has been pleasing, according to Stingrays coach Craig Black.

“A few people made us aware of him last year,’’ he said.

“He led Dromana’s goal kicking as a 17-year-old small forward so you’ve obviously got to have a bit of talent and he’s built up that resilience playing against men.

“It’s great that he’s been able to transfer that form into his TAC Cup career.’’

Josh Battle was also a strong influence up forward, booting four goals, while Nathan Scagliarini played his best game, former basketballer Mitch McCarthy again impressed and Dylan Atkins did well.

The win was soured by injuries to Mason Dewit (broken finger) and Callum White (hamstring).

The game was a curtain raiser to the Frankston-Richmond VFL game and Black said his players stayed on to see the Dolphins’ drought-breaking win.

Fowler 5, Battle 4, De Koning 2, Poholke, Allsop, Scagliarini, Gill-Renouf.

Scagliarini, Atkins, Battle, Fowler, Piper, Glen.

Can I put in my draft picks now?
I want a JB in the first, KB in the second, Meek in the third and Dodge the last.
Berry? I'd be a bit surprised if KB went as early as the second if he got completely overlooked last year, although this years draft looks a bit eh..

There are really good 30, but our second round pick looks like we will miss that 30, so then why not get Brown? Perhaps I am being too critical.

It is still way to early to say where anyone will get drafted.

Would love for Jy Simpkin to slide to us Jake Stringer style.
Comment not related to Jy:
From games I have seen, lots of fumbling, running to the wrong spots and running under the ball.
Perhaps I better wait for the Championships and then have a good look.

yet you do it all of the time ;)

I would to & I just can't think of many players that have missed out on been drafted & come back the next year & gone earlyish

He's injured for the year

He could play TAC late in the year. Just depends on how bad the break is.
I wonder if he does happen to play later in the year & plays poorly after such a long time off
How that would affect his draft position, as opposed to not playing any football at all
