Dry Rot it talks about a few WA talls, but like I said earlier. It's probably too early to say, because obviously some kids can grow like crazy at that age.

Luke Strnadica is my favourite tall, maybe Berry

But I also really like what I've seen early from Parfitt (not a tall) he has a lot of class

I think Skippos has most of those 3 with videos on Youtube as well

Thanks. Will be interesting if there are any Dalrymple style rapid developers.

It'll be great to see Harrison McCreadie be able to stay close to his home town as an Academy selection.

At this early stage needs wise we should look at something like this:

1. A ruck - I think this might be Minno's last year, Campbell and Goetz isn't good enough depth wise. Might involve trade or taking one of the highly rated rucks from this years crop.

2. A Center Half Forward - Need a tall to go with our proper KPF's in Toyd and Redpath and add depth in the area we have nearly nothing in given our position as a top 8 side we have little here unless we go with a project player later or trade up or for a player from another club (last being unlikely). I'm interested to see if some of the kids who where around the 190cm mark last year grow to 193-194cm especially those who are a bit different to the rest.

3. Versatile Mids - Can never have too many

- We shouldn't look at KPD's except as rookies after what we did in 2015

it's going to be hard this year, what with the last pick in the first round :D

I can see getting our hands on a very high pick this year for pretty much the last time in our current list build. We've got lots of late picks that the academy clubs would love and I think we may have to trade out a few decent players either voluntarily or because they want a go somewhere else. Looks like we will have very few list spots so trying to get our hands on the highest picks possible for those few spots will be a focus id imagine. If this does happen is this a good draft for that? I know its early but if we got our hands on a top 6 or so pick who would you like that fits us well?

Since it's real early, at a later early pick.
I'd be hoping for Berry or Parfitt, Berry has the size to play multiple roles & reminds me of Laverde who ended up at Essendon & I had a man crush on in his draft year (still think he'll become a player to)

Parfitt from what I've seen looks more comfortable playing on the outside but he kicks the ball superbly & he appears fast, I'm not sure if he actually is though

I want Ezekiel Frank just for the name :drunk: :p
What's his nickname going to be, 'Bread'?

AFL Victoria’s Country and Metro teams will face a new opponent in the 2016 NAB AFL U18 Championships.

Adding to the annual rivalry against South Australia and Western Australia, the two Victoria teams will now face the Allies, comprising of players from NSW/ACT, Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

The Allies Squad will be selected following the completion of Division 2 of the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships in May, joining the Division 1 teams for the June 4 start.

The five teams will play four matches each during June and July in 2016, playing each team once, a change from recent years where the Division 1 sides played each other twice.

Playing at AFL venues across Australia, including Simonds Stadium and Etihad Stadium in Victoria, Division 1 of the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships will now showcase Australia’s best talent and allow players from every corner of the country a chance to go head-to-head and press their claims for selection in the NAB AFL Draft.

In addition to the U18 Championship changes, the very best draft eligible players will play in a Toyota AFL Grand Final Day curtain raiser at the MCG in the NAB AFL All Stars Match.

The two competing sides will selected from all five teams that compete in Division 1 of the Championships.

The best U17 talent will also have a chance to impress in Grand Final week with a Future Stars Match likely to be held on Friday, September 30.

This match will also present AFL clubs with an opportunity to examine the next crop of AFL stars ahead of the 2016 NAB AFL Trade Period in which future draft selections can be exchanged.

AFL Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan said the changes would significantly benefit players from Queensland, NSW/ACT, Tasmania and Northern Territory.

“The Allies have been part of the NAB AFL All Stars Match for the past two years and are now ready to compete against the might of South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria,” he said.

Vic Country is fixtured to open its 2016 U18 Championship campaign against WA on June 5 in Perth, before facing Vic Metro June 12, SA June 24 and completing the Championship against the Allies on June 29.

Vic Metro will have a bye in Round 1 before its campaign against Vic Country June 12, followed by SA June 18, the Allies June 24 and WA June 29.

2016 not a good one for talls?
Josh Battle (16 goals in 11 games) and as I've said above Frank (23 goals in 11 games) looked good as underage players in the TAC as tall forwards, Dav1d has claimed a kid from WA whose name I could never spell.

Tall defenders are more third talls in the TAC expect Sam McLarty. Can't really be certain about anything until they start playing footy again though.

Do you mean Luke Strnadica?

If we get him, it is going to be fun yelling that name out when he does something.. :p

Josh Rotham is around the 192cm mark & he is just about to have his 18th birthday on the 25th
but he is another tall out of WA that I believe the AFL Prospectus mentioned

just on the AFL Prospectus, it was a little disappointing that they left out a paragraph to describe the player in detail

last years compared Dunkley to Luke Parker

I'm getting keen on Jack Scrimshaw, sounds like he's got some leap and dash to him, great height, and can possibly play all over. Really interested to see where he gets played. Early gettable favourite (considering someone like Ainsworth is probably out of reach for us - he won't last to pick 18 you'd think).

I'm interested to see how things fall this year I still think we lack speed and KPF quality (still have ??? on Redpath). No doubt there will probably be a bolter or two nobody has even heard of yet.

Would love another 190cm+ utility especially if they have leg speed.

Scrimshaw's 193cm right now, and he's played forward a lot apparently. If Vic Metro puts him forward I'd start getting very excited about him.

I'm going to try to watch each player more closely this year, because I suspect we might just trade our first this year

I can see us trading up tbh. At least I hope we do, we got left behind with the academy trading that went on last year.

Trading up with the collection of third round picks that we got last year?

I think Brisbane have a highly rated academy coming through, we might be able to trade up using that perhaps?
Unless the rules have changed or been changed before then, I am not sure.
