I still like Sam Fowler for the Small Forward pick. Would only cost a late pick too I'd imagine.

Also Tyson Stengle but I feel he'll go in the second or third round.
I like him too, he's got the runs on the board and it would make MD explode. I would also love to see him and Caleb running around together.

Some of the melts would be very funny :p

Do you reckon MD could deal with another player with the nickname "The Rat" on our list hahaha

Been playing higher up the ground the last two weeks getting 28 and 26 touches respectively. Reminds me of Hayden Ballentyne.

That's a really good sign, and if it continues shows he would fit out flexibility mantra well. Players that can kick goals and rack up possessions are quality. How's his disposal? Is it only his height that pushes him down the board?

Generally good, has the X-Factor that makes him very dangerous forward of center with ball in hand. 1 quarter from him can change a game entirely.

Marshall is more a project player yes? When i saw him in the championships, he looks like a rake. Can't imagine he would play much senior footy in the first year or two.

Yeah he is a project but unlikely to make it to our first.

The ones that will come on relatively quickly are probably Kerr and Logue all the rest are project players.

Isn't Bolton soft with iffy disposal? I feel like our first is too early for him. I'm voting for the Venables/Taranto ticket.

Edit: Also still well into Scrimshaw but I feel like he'll be gone. Still, he's not in the top group of impossibles so you never know.
he is about on par with most players with his disposal, maybe our very first is too early. But he is certainly someone I'd be getting excited about if we pulled the trigger. I think of him more as a small forward with the potential to go through the midfield when required. You are probably right that he is a little soft but so many players look soft to me at that level, example - Parish, Aish etc and they go alright.

With Venables my biggest current concern is how he floats out of games but again I'd be excited if we took him & imagining him starting his career alongside Stringer makes my mouth water.

I've had reservations about his inside ability since before his injury.
I've been reading a lot of your stuff since coming across some of your posts lately and have to say I agree with a lot of your postings on players I've seen a bit of too but I do get along to most of the Rebels home games and a few away games and honestly the last few weeks Berry has played midfield and has been excellent inside using his big body to really impact the contest and clearances, last week he was absolutely dominant and also slotted 3 long goals.

Yesterday he also was good attacking the contest and clearances with ferocity until involved in a sickening collision with a Ranges player a minute or so into the 4th quarter that resulted in him being carried off and taking no further part in the game and the Ranges player concussed. Heard he copped a badly corked thigh in that incident.

This season as well as the A/C joint injury he's also been contending with a niggling hip problem I've heard so I'd tend to discount his early season form, have no fear about his "inside" game on what I've seen, he has it in spades. Think he has plenty of upside yet to come....I'd be very comfortable if we get a shot at drafting him at our pick! ;)

I tend to favor more inside players when going through early draft selections because of the higher hit rates, players who have shown inconsistencies in this area worry me abit because they tend to flop more. My opinion back in June was that he was a bit tentative going into contested situations at times in the end it was more likely due to his injuries he had been carrying as he is starting to find some form recently which is encouraging. Before that I was waiting for him to play midfield more because that is where you learn the most about these players contested ability rather than seeing them in the back line, that is why I made that comment I wasn't convinced by his midfield play at the champs. Still have him as one of the players in contention at the dogs first but he is slightly behind a few on the matter of being a list fit.

Probably the sort of tall Outside Mid that at AFL level will get 60 odd percent of his ball outside the contest but can go in hard at the ball when needed, somewhat like what Elliot Yeo or Jackson Macrae does.
