I'd love to have both, although it would drive a lot of people nuts
But if good KPPs aren't available, what are ya going to do.
I still think Bolton is a big risk in the first round for us.

No doubt he is talented but he has a few things that worry me about him.

I'm hopeful that he can still be on the table at our second pick

As I said earlier to CaptainMurphy, I see him more of a forward that can go through the midfield

If I was convinced Stengle was going late in the draft then I'd be less likely to want Bolton

Wizard you would still go for English with our first pick if we were choosing today?
If he was not available, who would your next priority be?
Yes. He is exactly the type of ruck that Bev would want and these types don't come around very often.

Next priority would probably be a midfielder like Tim Taranto.

A major change to academy bidding will change our draft strategy.
Teams can only take the same number of picks in, as they have list spots. Therefore, less trading backwards in the draft for picks.
Bad for us as we have an extra late draft pick from Swans....
Good as it will slow down the academy teams getting all the players they want with rubbish picks.
I Suspect smart academy teams will reduce their list sizes to allow two additional unused picks. This means more expansion team players being available this year.
How it will impact our early picks? - It may encourage academy teams to look to trade a 1+3 for a 2+2. Making early second round picks a bit more valuable.

I still think we should stay as far away from Bolton as we can, at least for the first two rounds. I know he has x-factor and pace but there are way too many obvious issues to his game. He might make a better fit at another club but for the Dogs, the last thing our forward line needs is another occasionally-headache-inducing player, and Bolton looks that to me. In terms of a 'value : talent ratio' for a small forward I would far prefer Fowler or even Stengle who should both slip much further than Bolton.

If GWS keep doing three players for one pick deals, this new rule won't prevent it.

I prefer small forwards that consantly apply defensive pressure and tackle well as well as kick goals. Would prefer Kirby, Fowler, Stengle, Long and Jones later in the draft really than Bolton early.

Not a small but I'm keeping an eye on Jack Henry as a wingman/forward, most athletic player this year and kicks it a mile.

Hey, just a quick question, but assuming we keep our first round pick, would there be any chance we pick up Kerr? I think he would be a great athletic kpf and suit us well

Nah, I see Joshua Battle and Patrick Kerr being picked up around the 20's.

I wonder if we can do something with Gold Coast to get some of their second round picks though. Even more now considering the new hidden pick rule.

I agree Kerr does suit us well. As does Battle but English is too unique to pass up and is my preference.
20's pick, as there are some great midfielders this year that are rated highly.
