Elite endurance and ball winning is a good combination, if he has nice skills too he would have to be on the radar.

On Sweet, he fascinates me. He is very tall at 206cm, seems to find a bit of the footy so must have an alright engine for a big guy already. Listed at 105kg so is also quite heavy already. Having seen him playing for the AIS his kicking looked shot, just seemed to kick it straight up into the air. How do you rate him? Do you see similar kicking issues to me? Does he mark the ball well? Only interested because I would love a super tall ruckman that can mark the ball in the Gawn mould but they are very tough to find.

Sweet is 203cm.

He is still developing his around the ground work but as I have said before he is improving very quickly and could easily usurp Goddard as the best ruck in this draft pool if he has a good champs where he effects the game more outside the ruck contest where he usually dominates (last year he had 67 hitouts in one SANFL 18s game).

From what I have heard about Setterfield it sounds as though he is even a little bit Bont-like. Tall multi-skilled midfielders are the business at the moment so GWS will just add yet another talented midfielder to their list of already far too talented midfielders. How many premierships did the AFL want them to win again? Seems like every year they only bring in top 10 talent and rookies. I do trust Dal enough to bring us in similar talent given his networking system and sound drafting philosophies.

The talent academies should be made independant to the AFL clubs themself. AFL club academies should have a limited yield each season, I say they should max be allowed to take 2 players from their own academy and then the rest should be scouted by independant AFL talent scouts with the same intended outcomes (developing talented players in non-traditional AFL areas in an elite environment) but allow them to join the open pool of players on draft day.
