Go to Wagga and there are tonnes who follow AFL.
Not so many GWS supporters though
I'm sure the locals see it as AFL/GWS stealing their kids.
They rate the kids from year 9 onwards. But as you would expect there is a lot of variation and movement from year 9 to year 12. And even from year 12 to the end of their college freshman year.Agree with you 100% and to add as well rating players from a younger draft age is so much harder than American sports where they have a few more years in the college system before they make it. to NFL/NBA etc.

Do u think we will beat you for the first time in 6 years next year?AFL is a compromised rort, look no further then gws to see this
Have u heard of Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills?A friend of mine was a part of liverpools junior academy when he was younger and has stayed involved with football. His opinion is that in the world of football if you aren't a complete player by 12 years old you won't make it. You need all the ball skills, heading skills and basic understanding of play by 12 or you're done.
Broken Hill tooWell how they got the Riverina area in the first place is a joke because most ppl in those areas are playing footy already.
Wouldn't be surprised if GWS match all bids in the first round. Looks like they'll lose their first pick next year anyway, so they won't care how far back it gets pushed.
Might want to do some background reading on Liverpool and what sport they play buddy.Have u heard of Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills?
Am i the only one that wants the AFL to scratch all academies? Lets just go back to the draft with just picks and no bidding system, no team should have any rights to a player. Thats just not a fair system.
Think youmissed the point on that.Do I need to explain it to you?Might want to do some background reading on Liverpool and what sport they play buddy.

AFL is a compromised rort, just have to look no further than how the WA clubs benefit from "homesick" refugees to see this.AFL is a compromised rort, look no further then gws to see this
Yep and if a kid decides he prefers his development to be completed in the TAC Cup, then the academy club misses out first dibs. The kid can decide who he wants to play for. Stay in the academy program, get to that club. Move out of the program and into the elite U18 talent pathway, you go into the open draft.Exactly and then scrap the 20% discount. GWS already have a huge leg up, why should they get quality youngsters for less than everyone else has to pay?
Jye Bolton does anyone know if he will be taken in the national draft or rookie draft? Would love to see the hawks take a punt on him.
Also can Jake Barrett be taken in the national draft? would also like hawthorn to draft him.
Yes. Grundy was ready to go and rated top 3 until about a week or so before the draft when clubs suddenly got cold feet over drafting a ruckman early. English as a project player, has been the subject of debate for weeks and weeks though. Fairly different situations.
Where he needed to go? Turn it up. You're trying to imply that a South Australian with no ties or support for Collingwood, tanked his interviews to get there? The fact Grundy tanked some interviews helped seal his fate and get him where he needed to go.

If they were raised in england and followed football and started playing that much later they wouldnt have made it.
