Any penalties imposed on the club itself will be imposed by the AFL, not ASADA. "AFL won't allow it"???? They imposed draft penalties on Essendon didn't they? I'm not saying it should or shouldn't happen, just that the AFL will be the ones dishing out club sanctions, not ASADA.
ASADA only deal with penalties for individuals found to be in breach of the code as far as I am aware. They could make recommendations to the AFL I guess, but I wouldn't have thought it would be an area that they would be too keen on venturing into. Besides, it doesn't appear that there has been some club sponsored, organised conspiracy here. At worst, if guilty, a couple of club officials and an player making some gross misjudgements. I can't see sanctioning the club would be necessary in this instance.

not the thread for it, but i would suggest GWS were far more organised than Essendon in this respect....and its far less embarrassing for them as a result.

Well if I had 17 id be more than happy. You call would not be that unheard of ... plenty of early rated talls slide...just feel this year , teams with multiples will find it hard to go past English or marshall ..teams like Carlton and North that are rebuilding may take that long term view..Time will tell.

English is a lot higher rated, and rightly so. He has actually produced. Marshall you are taking one almighty gamble. Poor back end of the season, very little goals. It is a punt, and there is no way I'm taking that punt in the top 10. If we had 2 picks at 14 and 17, I MAY be more inclined to do it. Have him in the 14-25 range.

Gold Coast have picks but I think they have other needs GWS have academy picks and an interest in McGrath. Carlton not sure on but I think by North at 11 , they would have to be tempted. 14 -25... if he got to Geelong id be very happy to take him.

There is gambling and then there is gambling. If I were taking a KPF I'd want him averaging a goal and a half a game bare minimum, and as a top 10 pick I'd want 2. Marshall isn't there yet. Too big a risk for me.

I like him but have only seen him once this year but he was impressive a very powerful player he is similar to Venables in a lot of ways. Talked to a guy at the club who sets up their fitness programs and he said he has worked his butt of and really wants to make it. He made the All Stars squad so he has been noticed by a few clubs.

Yeah he apparently got his skinfolds down from 80 to 57 (during the season I think) and just murders the gym.

At the state combine apart WCE, Port and Sydney where talking to Liam.
I was worried that both clubs may look at him in the second round late.
But after his 10.1 beep and his struggle to move to perth and Freo not showing much interest.
I think he will fall to WCE last nd pick or end up a rookie pick.

Marshall seems like the type of player who may be out of favour in a few years at his current club after not living up to the hype and you can grab him then with an upgraded contract and just offer a 2nd rounder type thing.

I don't know much about the draftees but one thing I am confident on is I can't see him having any sort of impact whatsoever in his first contract, and probably not in his 2nd either. Project for sure. In which case I wouldn't want to spend a first rounder on him, in the current player-swap climate, only for him to leave after his development years.
